We should also be utilizing the running game more and not playing from behind as much.

This strikes me as a rhetorical question.
Keep in mind I consider myself an objective fan and my answers will be likewise objective.
Also, remember that I'm one of the few that believes that Griffin is/was a better prospect then Luck.
With that preamble in place, flame suit on...

Quote:
Griffin is faster, smarter and has a better arm. Newton had ONE competent WR to throw to. Without Steve Smith, newton would have no one. He has a better O-line than RG3, but Griffin can run out of trouble just as well or better and has a better stable of RBs in my opinion.
Faster? Yes.
Smarter? Who knows? Booksmarts don't matter, football smart is all I care about we're not talking rocket science here afterall look at Terry Brandshaw or Phillip Rivers.
Better arm? I'll say its even, but that because I'm a homer.
You ask me objectively I say Cam.

Receivers? Griff
OL? Panthers by far.
RBs? Panthers by far.

Goaline running/scoring threat?
Offensive coaching staff embracing the spread/read option concepts?

Quote:
He should AT LEAST match Newton's numbers, but I'd expect far fewer mistakes (INTs) and a better completion rate.
I actually agree that Griffin could match Cam's passing numbers because judging by Kyle's first 2 season Griffin could set the rookie record for passing attempts.

I wholeheartedly agree. But expect this 2012 Redskins team to put more points on the board. If the defense can stiff the opposing offense to 13/15 points a game, then the Redskins can be a 11-5 or even a 12-4 team.

Redskins Rookie Passing Records To Watch

I'd say he's got a great chance at owning all the team records for a rookie QB

Re: Expectations for Griff and the 2012 Offense

I'll just say this. I have watched the Redskins lack of offense for several years now and and last year was no exception to that fact. If the Redskins can figure out how to score just 21 points per game they will be above .500 for the season. They were 5-11 last year and if you were to just pencil in 21 points for them in the games they lost, they would have been 9-7. Whatever it takes to score 3 TDs per game should be the goal. If another TD here or there verses a FG or a drive killing turnover makes those 3 TDs per game happen, then they will be playoff bound in my mind. I think RG3 is good enough to help this team get those 3 TD, either on a busted play where he makes it happen with his feet, or he buys some time to get that receiver open to make that play. I think he will make more plays than Rex did to help this team score more, and that's what they need.

Are you saying Hankerson will move his way up the depth chart and be our #2 guy? It could happen- I just hope b/c he's beasting out and not an injury to moss or failed Morgan experiment.

Wow, it's amazing how bad our club's rookie qb records are. I hope he re-writes every single one of them(except interceptions)

Re: Expectations for Griff and the 2012 Offense

I say Robert plays in 15 games this year, puts up 27 TDs and 14 Picks. I say Garcon looks like a bust up till the last 4 games when he starts to come along. I think our running game will be one of the leagues best. I think Josh Morgan will put up poor numbers and be cut. Santana and Cooley play for us, but both end up injured after the 9th game of the season and their careers are done here after the season. I think we beat the saints opening game. We dont beat the eagles, we split with the giants, and the cowboys. We do beat Cam Newton. RG3 wins rookie of the year. Our offense finishes 13th in the league. We draft a RT with our 2nd rounder next year that will be in the middle of the second round, which means an 8-8 record for us. (Best case 9-7)

Does anyone else feel like the defense for Baltimore and Pittsburgh is starting to fall off a little bit? I'd worry more about that offensive line for the Steelers more than anything.

Re: Expectations for Griff and the 2012 Offense

Baltimore maybe. They're missing Suggs, Reed...who knows with his contract fight if he'll play and how motivated he'll be, he's seriously angry at the team. The secondary isn't as good anymore.

Pittsburgh should be just as strong. Cincy could be a top 5 NFL defense and Cleveland isn't terrible and have made some nice additions. Watch out for their rookie James Michael-Johnson at LB.

You never know with Cincy. They have a track record of following good years with bad years, for whatever reason.
