For the Eagles? Last time it ended on the cusp of a Super Bowl win.

Re: Philadelphia Eagles Sign Nnamdi Asomugha
Philly was going to win the east IMO anyway, this just makes it even more convincing. They R loaded on Offense and now pretty damn good on D.. Add Babin also and they should win 10-11 games.

Re: Philadelphia Eagles Sign Nnamdi Asomugha
we are once again the doormat of our division. we had the most money to spend and did not bring a differance maker in on either side of the ball but phila. did and cowboys are in process of doing so and n.y. has better personnal than us,plus we have no right tackle, need linebackers for the middle (mac) is a FA ,no depth anywere and last but not least our QB situation is like scramble eggs ,we have a undrafted qb from ind.,a career back-up in clemons and our starter who has been in the league for four yrs. and on two or three differant teams and never has started what does that tell you?get ready for the lottery draft here we come. same old skins another dismal is on the horizon f*********n great

Every time we've brought in a "difference maker", we've seen how that plays out. Yup, still the bottom of the division. You know, they say the definition of insanity is doing the same things over and over again expecting different results. It's about time we try something new, which is exactly what we've done this off-season. I'm sorry it doesn't fit you Ceratto fan boys game plan, but it's a productive one and a plan that last for more than one year. |

Re: Philadelphia Eagles Sign Nnamdi Asomugha
its not the instant win formula anymore... that didn't work.
first you've got to build a team full of good players - before we had a bunch of high priced guys and zero depth. now we've got lots of cheap depth and we're building up the talent level off our 23-53rd roster slots immensely, though our starters have also gotten better. The iggs and gints having being doing that for years, so we're a little behind, but this is a good start, and we haven't been lobbing big money. you can't afford to have a 50% success rate on 100$mill contracts, and good players cost more to get here because we're not a good franchise right now. if nmandi wanted to get rich losing he could have stayed in oakland. no, we're probably not going to the playoffs this year, but if we find out our first 4 picks are all monsters, we're in a really good position to spend big and find the great QB next year. the colts, eagles, steelers, and pats all draft a lot of guys and then the PUT THEM ON THE FIELD to see what they can do. what good is using the draft to get 13 cheap players if you're only ever going to let them ride the pine? most picks in round 5-7 and depth only, but if a couple can play for you, you're way ahead... you have to give them a chance though and a down year is a good time to get things fixed and see what you've got. i still believe in getting some average/baseline vets to protect us in case some guys are just straight terrible, but atlanta lost everything (coach franchise QB etc) and somehow managed to get a couple rookies and jump right back into contention. sometimes i wish we played in the nfc west though. we could still get home field with this roster. |

I think our defense is going to be the best in the division this year. I have a good feeling about Kerrigan and Orakpo will get better chances having him. Dreaming of a Steeler type pass rush. Like the Wilson signing. Safties should be one of the better tandems in the NFL. |

Re: Philadelphia Eagles Sign Nnamdi Asomugha
I don't really understand this move for any party. It will be fascinating if the Eagles hold onto Asante Samuel. But if they trade him as assumed, teams are just going to throw at DRC all day, every day, and Asomugha will never see the football.
Furthermore, this isn't a monster deal or anything, and I'm not sure how any team got priced out of the market for Asomugha per these contract terms. Oakland loses, Dallas loses, the Jets lose, and Philadelphia...spends money on a good talent. Are they going to play zone or man? I don't really know. Philly: a really impressive offseason and they have a really loaded roster at many positions, including CB. The Asomugha move is a boost to their secondary, but I don't think it is anything more than that.
