Re: Redskins Receivers Rotation

Yeah I can see Banks on the bubble if someone else shows up as a capable return man.

Paul is a young rookie they could send to PS. Stokely is the question but looking back he played with Baltimore, Indy, then with the Bronco's for non other then MS. So him coming in might just be for familiarity to the system, but he's 35. He might prove to be better then some because he already knows the system which is kinda a plus when thinking about a shortened offseason.

Yeah SB, you are right about Stokely, he is 35, but still has good hands. Probably won't make the cut. Woul love to see Paul make the squad but PS is the likely place for him. I don't see any of the Kelly, Banks, or Austin trio making it. If the coaching staff thought that highly of them they would have not drafted so may Wrs and now acquired a trio of vets.

Hey Matty,

What do you think the chances of Paul making the final roster? I really like the guys we drafted at WR this year. I hope he can make it. I like Banks, but I cringe at the thought of him getting nailed by a Eagles DB or OLB on kick returns still.

I think we'd be crazy to cut Banks. He was a total game changer last year. If it weren't for some of the penalties, he was a dream to have as a kick returner/punt returner. Maybe I was drinking too much during the games, not sure, but I'm surprised people think he might get cut.

Right now I would guess practice squad.

Yeah I used to think that too, but he's a one trick pony, and if someone shows they can return and play WR, I could see him getting beat out. It's going to be a heck of a camp battle that's for sure.

Re: Redskins Receivers Rotation

Rice's contract looks a lot like Cofields, and our QB situation looks a lot like Seattle's. That could have been a better use of the money we spent on BC.

Braylon Edwards still out there, after that it's Randy Moss, James Jones, and a whole lot of projection.

Then why aren't they signing any offensive lineman?

I think Austin will make it on the team. I'm not sure that we are done yet. Ochocinco has not been cut yet, Braylon is still out there.

Skill positions come off the board first in free agency, just like the draft. Free agency is just getting started.
