[sarcasm] Let me be the first to say unless Beck starts, we won't win squat. [/sarcasm]

Stupid bastards!!!!!!!! They could have just signed Frerotte to be the 3rd stringer til they draft a QB next year or in 2012. Frerotte is probably still better than this Beck. Shit, if Gus is still working out, he would have been better than Brennan. |

Re: Redskins Acquire QB John Beck (for CB Doug Dutch)
Shit Bartel, Beck, Grossman?????? After Donovan that is what we have to work with? Shit, give me Gus back. You might think I am nuts, but the guy went 8-3 replacing Jackson at Minnesota, and still has something left in the tank probably. You can get him at league minimum also. Not saying have him anything other than QB #3, but damn, he is going to be better than Grossman, Beck, or Bartel. Well, at least better than one or two of these guys.

Re: Redskins Acquire QB John Beck (for CB Doug Dutch)
Trying to be funny here Smooty. But I hate to say it I might not be that off the mark in reality. Gus isn't the best by far, but I rather have a former Pro Bowl QB that although might not be super, can still manage a game and win. Beck's numbers suck the big one, and Bartel isn't ever going to get higher than #3 on any teams depth chart. Grossman plain sucks. I wouldn't mind seeing Gus as our #3 for a one year deal til we draft another QB to replace him. Honestly now. You are going to tell me you rather have Beck than Gus? Like I said Gus ended his last season being active with a 8-3 record. His stats weren't good, but he did the job with AP. We have LJ, CP, and WP. I think he could win games for us if the unthinkable could happen. |

My dad went to Va Tech and W Va. No connection with Tulsa. And it isn't such a rabid obsession as it is just pure schtick, although I am a Gus fan for sure!!!!! The Cult of Colt is dead, but the legions of Gus fans live on!!!!! |

Re: Redskins Acquire QB John Beck (for CB Doug Dutch)
I like the move. I want John Beck to be successful here in DC. I assure you it has nothing to do with the fact that we share a last name and that I'd love to have a jersey with my name on it without looking as pretentious as I actually am....

Re: Redskins Acquire QB John Beck (for CB Doug Dutch)
I think Gus subconsciously doesn't want another QB wearing #12.

Just got back from Kings Dominion to find that Doug Dutch is no longer with the Redskins. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! I was going to create a little section for Doug Dutch fans at FedEx and call it the Dutch Oven.

So it appears that Kyle has always like Beck. Btw Beck's ball velocity was tested higher then Joe Flacco's. So dude has a strong arm. I have a hunch that Beck makes the squad as a developmental QB. |

Re: Redskins Acquire QB John Beck (for CB Doug Dutch)
Thought this was ironic.
2006 Season Stats: Other than Colt Brennan, perhaps no signal-caller in college football had as good of a season as John Beck. In terms of pure statistics, he is nearly unmatched. He ranked second in the country to Hawaii's Colt Brennan in passing efficiency with a rating of 169.1. Beck ranked in the top five quarterbacks in the NCAA in nearly every major offensive category: points responsible for(19 ppg.), total passing yardage(3,885 yards), and passing yards per game(323.75 ypg.). That is not even mentioning Beck tossed an eye gouging touchdown to interception ratio(32 touchdowns: 8 interceptions) and a hair-raising completion percentage of 69.3 percent.
