Actually never mind. Tony Pike is still out there. I actually feel kind of good about that. I personally didn't see much in him outside of his height and it seems like the scouts agree with me.

Re: Campbell A Raider

so, how does everyone feel about the compensation? A 2012 4th = a 2011 5th = a 2011 6th. so, i'm pretty happy. it'll most definitely be a top 100 pick. :-)

Tony Pike just got drafted. The cult can now take comfort in the fact that no one will challenge Colt's cult status.

Raw deal? So now we say when a guy gets paid over 11 million if he is not treated like the best QB in the world he gets a raw deal. Hell it was the Skins and Gibbs that gave JC a chance and he should be greatful that we did. He had every chance in the world to show he was a starting QB but he failed in my book. Now because we have let him go he gets another two year deal worth around 8 million. So now he could fail there and when it all said and done earned 18 million in 7 years. Raw deal my ass.

Actually I'm pretty interested in seeing weather or not Colt can win the number 2 job. It seems like he's going to get that chance. All of the QB's that could have been a real threat to Colt making the team seem to have been drafted.
Kyle didn't bring Grossman in here to be third string. Grossman has started a Super Bowl, Cult has yet to take a regular season snap. Who do you think is going to be the #2?

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

Enjoyable article!

I'm anxiously awaiting Mike Shanahan's comments on Colt during the preseason and beyond.

My money would be on Grossman but remember Grossman got hurt in camp last year and didn't show up until the last preseason game. Colt at least made it through most of the preseason. The thing that matters is that theres going to be a competition and the best player will get that backup spot behind McNabb. I'm just interested in seeing how Colt does in this system.

Re: Campbell A Raider

Colt as backup is probable in the next two years anyway. The thing is if we draft a QB late this year or somehow go after Mallet or Keenum next year, then who knows. I don't see Brennan being here once Donovan goes though.

I can tell you one thing those picks gave us, which will forever be overlooked. They gave us a class act at the QB position at a time when we had a terrible tragedy with Sean Taylor, followed by years of upheaval and a terrible FO. Many qb's would have failed the team or bailed or like Cutler, whined like a little baby. JC acted like the consummate professional, and did his best, which in the end let the focus be on the awful FO and HC, which in turn forced DS to recognize the need for a new plan. That gave us MS and BA. And Optimism for the future.

Good luck JC, it was trial by fire here, but I wish you the best going forward.

Looks like the Raider nation is accepting JC with ecstatic open arms. They're acting like they just got Dan Marino.

I'll be rooting for Jason and hope he becomes a winner with the Raiders...until they play the Redskins! BTW, the Redskins took the deal and the low choices as a favor to JC.
