Show me Sellers on third down. I don't care if he's lead blocking for Clinton or pulverizing dudes while coincidentally holding onto the football, just show me the Walla Walla and take it to the promised land!

About time we keep one of our own instead of overpaying for some other teams players. Gibbs should have stayed with Betts and kept Bailey and our second rounder we gave away.

keeping bailey was not an option, he wanted out and if we kept him he would have been a bad team player

Wow, this actually seems like a reasonable deal for the Skins. Wonder how Snyder screwed that up? Could it be the beginning of a new era? The "market value" era? Glad to hear Betts is sticking around. Taking the burden of Portis should let him do what he needs to do on the field without feeling like he has to carry the entire offense on his back. |

I wasn't a huge fan till he started actually running at people on occasion. Prior to getting the start lately, he always seemed confused when he hit the line. Hopefully something has "clicked" for him and he'll still be able to make big contributions next year.

Yes, I think that the Betts signing gives them the flexibility to trade Portis for a quarterback, if they decide that Campbell has failed his trial run by the end of the year. You could go with a Betts-Duckett combination. If Campbell passes, then Duckett is out.

I almost drove my car off the road when I heard the terms of this deal. Only the redskins would give this kind of deal to a guy that has not even had 1 complete season as a top flight back. I congratulate Betts for getting this contract but IMO this is another example of why the redskins continue to flounder as an NFL bottom dweller.

Portis isn't going anywhere, let's just stop with that nonsense. Teams need two quality backs these days. Betts should see an increased load next year and with the banging Portis takes that's a good thing. Betts' deal is very cap friendly as well. Not sure where any negativity is coming from in that regard but oh well, some are never satisfied.
