I know he's a homer and stuff, but still, I thought that was interesting.
Maybe it does happen but when you do it in front of a ref it's gonna be called 100% of the time.

Re: The Spitting Ejection

Guys I have a high def 62 inch tv and saw nothing to indicate spitting in any way. Nothing. If he spit it was the weakest nothing spit in history. I think it is quite possible he simply spittled while talking to the guy. It was a crap situation. I think there should have been two off-setting flags and no ejection.

The ref was stanging right there... you trust your hi-def over a guy that was standing 1 foot away? You think the ref was just making shit up or was he just out to get ST?

Re: The Spitting Ejection

Is it possible that the spitting is a cover up excuse for a call the ESPN guys were grilling the refs for? I mean seriously who can spit invisibly? It is impossible. The angle is good enough to know if he actually spit. It doesn't look at all like he spit. He'd have to confess to it to conivnce me he spit. There is no evidence. Just because a ref said he did means nothing to me when we all basically grill these guys week in and week out. They make mistakes all the time. I don't trust their word anymore than I'd trust a 75 cent hooker.

Re: The Spitting Ejection

It was probably a loose, watery spit and not a lougey wad. Regardless the ref was right there and threw the flag. It had to have been flagrant enough to him and not an inadvertant phlemation in order to have thrown the flag. I thionk an off setting penalty would have been appropriate but now it is moot.....because WE WON!!!!!!!!!

Taylor must be a very talented spitter to get it through his face mask and not show up on the multidue of video and still cameras on that field. I guess time will tell if someone actually got it on tape or film, but I really think if spit did get on the Buc it was accidental. It did not look like Taly hocked one on this guy. The ref overreacted.

I am glad everyone gives ST the benefit of the doubt, but i will say this, if he did spit on pittman, then i put him basically in the same category as marcus vick. If Tampa would of kept that drive going and scored, i would of been pissed. Thanks Gregg for keeping them boys focused and making the big plays today.

if taylor did indeed spit on him, it's inexcusable. if i saw him do it with my own eyes, i'd say it was classless. but the camera shows nothing- and if williams takes him at his word, i give him the benefit too.

Re: The Spitting Ejection

The only way I can see the incident happening is that it happened immediately at the end of the play before the players got off the ground. They were still jawing at each other when they got up and Pittman slapped him. It could be that we didn't see that part on film. While I don't want to beleive Taylor spit this is the second time in two years he has been acused of a simular act. In the game last year with Cleveland he was also aledged to have spit on a player. I hope this is not a trend and this will be the last of these type incidents.

Right... I guess one of the best refs in the game just had a c-note on the game and was trying to swing the momentum by handing out a phantom penalty and ejection on a boy scout of a guy in Sean Taylor.

Some of you guys are hilarious.

I agree, didn't Taylor spit in TO's face last year?

The one thing I disagreed with there is Pittman didn't get a penalty to offset the personel foul by Taylor, Taking a swing and connecting to a player's head I thought was an automatic ejection as well? Retaliating regardless of what happen's to you is a penalty as well, it should have been called.

But regardless it was an absoltue idiotic move on Taylors part, as if this guy doesn't have enough going on trying to clean up his image before his trial he pulls something like this and reinforces his stupidity and total disregard for authority, I am sure his defense team was really amused by his actions today!

And for anyone who believes he didn't spit, he sure reacted funny for a player who was just ejected for an opposing player punching him in the head, I think he took it awfully well.

i'll tell you this: i've given taylor the benefit of the doubt so far... if it is proven that he did indeed spit on pittman, i not only lose respect for his actions, but his word as well.

Re: The Spitting Ejection

There's no way Taylor is getting suspended. That would be foolish. Besides, I'm not convinced it even happened. There should have been a flag thrown on the Bucs' player as well.
