Re: How bout it Lavar
OK, I just read the article on Arringtons performance on redskins.com.
I didn't realise his wife was due to give birth this week. Hope it's early in the week! Given this little tidbit, anyone else feel that a) he'll be even more up for it against Seattle and b) he may well come back next year with a different (more mature?) attitude? |

Re: How bout it Lavar
Great games by Lavar and the rest of the LBs. Hats off!
The offsides penalty sucked obviously, but I'll still take that any day if it comes with 8 tackles and a crucial INT. Way to go, Lavar |

this is the reason i started this thread, are you kidding me , with Lavar we have one of the best linebacking cores in the league. second to denver. without Lavar we just have a Greg Williams system doin what it always does... work. and thats not a problem at all. but this team needs Lavar. he's definatly a threat and offenses have to account for him. if you noticed after the first half have we rarely blitzed at all and when we did blitz they were run blitzes and when we run blitz Lavar is covering the te. if we wanna talk about an easy interception. the interception that ended the game was right in there also. im mean come on with Lavar in there we add to our threats on defense, and it gives Sean Taylor more of a chance to run around and drop the hammer on someone. You know we all love to see that. I say keep Lavar and we have the #1 defense next year. |

C. Clemons was on his way to becoming Lavar's full time replacement before he was hurt. If you want to talk coverage skills you may want to talk to G. Williams and ask why he was replacing lavar on passing downs all season long? |

Re: How bout it Lavar
I am really beginning to grow tired of how much we come on the website and try to compare one of our beloved -vs- one of our beloved (i.e. Brunell vs Ramsey saga)..both LA and MW were GREAT...the D was just GREAT. Any contribution that LA or MW gives us on any play I will take it and I refuse to spend time picking apart whom is better than the other! They are BOTH Redskins players, we are ALL Redskins fans (supposedly)....like Lavar said Loyalty is a two-way street....respect him and root for him just because he is a SKINS player trying to accomplish the ultimate...the SB.
Don't get me wrong...I am not a LAVAR-worshipper as someone earlier stated in the thread...nor am I a MARCUS-hater....good football is good football and if Lavar can make 1 good play or Marcus makes 1 good play it does not matter to me....with that being said....the ultimate ingredient in the recipe for success in the game of football is TEAMWORK>>> Please save all your dissections and comparisons for the offseason, we don't need that right now! Concentrate, focus and prepare for Seattle and win the game! GOOOOOOO SKINS!!!!!

Re: How bout it Lavar
I am a Lavar fan, but I am a Marcus fan as well. For the Lavar haters, you guys all talk about how much he sucks, and yada yada, but the fact is, when he is on the field, he makes an impact. No, you don't see a huge play as much as you do from marcus, but when he's on the field, other teams know where he is, and that frees things up for our other playmakers. No doubt Marcus has been the better player all year long, but as soon as Lavar does one good thing all I hear from the Lavar haters is that he was lucky, yada yada, he got lucky they ruled it down by contact, and all i hear from the Lavar worshipers is that he is totally worth it, and it proved he's still a good player. Lavar makes enough of an impact.
@offiss: You really think Chris Clemons was gonna be Lavar's full time replacement? what a daft statement, considering when Lavar wasn't in there on first and second down, Warrick Holdman was. Chris Clemons only came in on third downs to rush the passer. The reason for that is, Chris Clemons can rush the passer better than Lavar. I don't have any problem saying that, Chris Clemons has speed, and that's what his primary role is.

Sorry but you haven't been paying attention, Clemons was replacing Lavar all season on passing down's. Not a nickle corner. |
