im sick of all this constant bullshit drama. the management awareness is completely lacking
Ironically the both all of the local Sports Talk shows on both 106.7 WJFK and 980 WTEM are all saying the same thing as you!

And personally I completely agree with you!

Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins

Trent Williams also says he’s grateful for the organization because they’ve given him a lot over the years. Of Dan Snyder specifically, “it wasn’t his fault.”

Trent Williams said he was in the hospital in Chicago for two weeks and nobody from the Redskins visited him. DeAngelo Hall visited him though.

Trent Williams talks about how scared he was before his cancer surgery. Talked about the impact that had on his family and his young daughters. “I was lucky.”

Trent Williams said during his holdout “There was no communication, there was no conversation” with the front office. He talked with all of the players though

Asked if more guaranteed money could fix his relationship with the Redskins, Trent Williams said he’s not “asking them for a dime.”

I asked Trent Williams if he wanted to be traded and he just laughed. Also worth noting he said how much he still values his friendship with Dan Snyder.

Trent Williams says watching Alex Smith go down last year and “we haven’t had the best history here with medical stuff” made an impact on his desire for more guaranteed money.

Trent Williams also says that it’s crazy for him to be playing without guaranteed money on his deal.

Trent Williams says he’s been watching all the Redskins games. “These guys are my family.” Adds “I hated to see Jay go.”

Asked if he trusts the Redskins, Trent Williams says “there’s no trust.”

Trent Williams tells us he had cancer. DFSP. Growth first started 6 years ago and team diagnosis said it was minor.

Asked about timeline for finding a comfortable helmet for Trent Williams, Bill Callahan tells the truth: “I don’t know.”

Bill Callahan says the Redskins are working to find a customized helmet that Trent Williams can wear without discomfort

Callahan says Keenum could start in Buffalo even if he doesn’t practice all week

Case Keenum still in concussion protocol. Dwayne Haskins got majority of work at practice. No final decision for Sunday in Buffalo.

Bill Callahan opens his presser congratulating the Nats

Thanks for doing this.

It still amazes that Bruce Allen has a job. Unreal.

Michael Phillips nails it here:

@michaelpRTD
This is why I'm stunned Trent didn't say anything before now. His word will create a massive shift in public perception here.

I couldn't find it after googling it up, but didn't someone report a while ago that the medical staff encouraged Williams to get a second opinion and even made appointments for him, which Williams never showed up?

I heard the same claim...unbelievable no reporter asked this because this is where the line should be drawn.

My takeaway from this whole story is that if a valuable player doesn't want to be here, you trade him to the highest bidder. Fucking Bruce Allen strikes again.

My personal takeaway is that Trent is a big baby. He's blaming the organization for his own lack of taking ownership over his own health care. It was reported that they recommended that he see a specialist and he didn't. Even if that weren't true, the team trainers are not dermatologists or oncologists. They can be expected to properly diagnose some rare form of cancer. And their not doing so is no justifiable reason to breach his contract and demand a trade.

And Trents upset that his co-workers didn't travel 700 miles from DC to Chicago to visit him in the offseason? So what? Who of us works with co-workers that would? Friends and family - sure.

I'm glad Trent spoke today because its cleared up that he is 100% to blame for this fiasco. If there was ever a first round pick on the table for Trent and Allen didn't take it, i'd be pissed at Allen. But anything less than that, and I actually think this is the one time the team got it right. I would not let a whining POS like trent force his way out of town 3 years after I made him the highest paid LT in the game in a front-loaded contract with 2 years remaining on his deal. So I applaud the team for not caving to his demands.

All this is true but because he has now become a malcontent you can't have him back. You have to move him and this what I'm upset about, the Redskins inability to get over it and move on. They were offered fair value by the Browns and passed. That's bad management.

From what I read and heard is TW can’t stand BA, fire that a-hole already. The other is he waited 6 years to do something about the lump in his, either he’s pretty dumb or didn’t care enough to do something about it.

It really sounds like the Redskins recommended he go see a specialist this offseason, and he did which is when they determined it was cancerous.

Also it makes sense to the that the Browns would offer a first rounder when they were flying high and thought they had good prospects at the beginning of the season. Now they're 2-5 and looking like garbage and know that first rounder is probably going to be decent so of course they wouldn't want to give it up.

Redskins played themselves. Bruce Allen's gamble was that this was about getting more money, obviously it's not considering Trent gave up 7 million during his holdout and didn't even hesitate when asked if a contract extension would solve things. He wants out. We should've obliged if a team offered a first rounder, that Browns pick would be looking great right now.

Listening to the interview, this was really all about money. Trent specifically said he wanted more guaranteed money. He said it was ridiculous that he was an elite player in the league but didn't have guaranteed money the final two years. When a reporter asked him about all the guaranteed money he had on the front part of the deal, he laughed and said that was in the past.

So evidently Trent thinks he should be the first offensive lineman in the history of the league to have a fully guaranteed contract. If some new team gives him a contract, he'd play the guaranteed years and then hold out again. He came off completely as a greedy selfish player completely out of touch with reality. Even when discussing the medical stuff, he basically admitted that the medical staff didn't do anything wrong and it wasn't their fault. It was just a rare type of cancer.

I actually applaud the team for playing hard ball with Trent. Its would set a terrible precedent to cave into a players demands with 2 years left on his contract (especially with his injury and suspension history) - especially when hes smearing the medical staff as a cover. Unless the team gets some amazing offer, I hope they don't trade him next year. Trent should not be rewarded for his despicable behavior.

And also, Bruce Allen should be fired, but not for his handling of this situation. This is one of the few things he's done pretty well on.

The TW saga drags on. I find it interesting that he mentioned the last minute trade antics by Allen. Bruce has just got to fucking go. He is so bad for business. Just get rid of the guy Dan.
