Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD

Not a big fan of staying up late for primetime games myself but there's also a kicked up excitement level for a game this big in mid December for us.

@PeteHaileyNBCS
Wes Schweitzer is in line to be the Commanders' starting center with Tyler Larsen out, according to Ron Rivera. The versatile Schweitzer is getting the nod there over Nick Martin, who is a natural center

That sounds good to me. Hoping the rest of the OL is relatively healthy.

Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD

Kinda begs the question of why is Martin even on the roster?

Only because our guys have been so dinged up. I suspect that they feel the need to have someone -- anyone -- to plug in. It seems like everyone, with the possible exception of Leno -- has missed some time this year.

What ever happened with Erik Flowers? I don't recall him signing anywhere. So strange that he's fallen off the map (although perhaps I am wrong about that).

Nice, having swiss army knives on O line is a must nowadays.

With Martin i honestly think wed lose the remaining games. IOL has been huge for our run game.

Flowers -- odd he hasnt signed anywhere. Maybe hes one of those players that doesnt love football? Agent is Drew Rosenhaus so you know hed be burning the phone lines to get him on a roster if thats what Ereck wanted. I always saw him as an average starter level player, better in run vs pass. Def not a 10M per year player imo.

Played college ball in Miami .. played a year or so in Miami ... maybe he just wants to soak in the Miami sun and live the good life.

Definitely strange about Flowers, the guy is only 28 and we know he can play. Maybe he's too stubborn when it comes to $$ or he simply is ok with sitting out a year, who knows.

Whatever Flowers thought he was due in FA he won't be getting if he tried to land with a team next year. Being out of the league for a year will surely hurt his value -- probably more than if he had signed for a bit less than he wanted earlier this year. Seems a waste. We could certainly have used him this year.

Thanks for the good vibes Chief. Hopefully the lack of sleep will be fine because we're celebrating victory Monday.

Definitely a red flag they'd rather play a guard at center over him. Think he's just a body at this point.

They still have Kittle and McCaffrey not to mention the best defense in the NFL, they could put out Sammy Baugh's corpse at qb and they would still be a tough game.

We can beat SF if and it's a big IF.. we can move the ball on them. Right now they look like the 2nd best team in the NFC
