Yup. Me too. Not sure why a wait and see, prove it on the field attitude is met with such ire from the kool aid drinkers? Lol. Especially with this team.
There are pros, what appear to be a better quarterback. Our fans coming back. Secondary should be better with Forbes. There are cons, our oline still stinks (idgaf if it is better than last year, 5 blocking dummies would be too). Chase Young still can’t get on the field. Our HC is dead man walking. LB corp is still shit. Schedule is tough.

Pointing the obvious positives and negatives out shouldn’t make me a homer mcfan boy or a doom and gloom. I have no idea if this team will win 12 games or 4. Nobody does.

My gut tells me we hover around.500 until we have one more offseason. However I do believe we are headed in the right direction for one obvious reason. The head of the snake was cut off. Doesn’t mean the body isn’t still wriggling around for one more season until a competent owner fixes it.

I think the fan base is plenty positive and ready to roll. Except maybe Davy, his post just made me curl up in the corner.
Speaks volumes about how excited the fanbase is that Dan is gone.

My hope is we turn out well enough that we give a home field advantage to the team and they handle business against a clearly inferior Cards team.

If they lose Sunday they might as well fire Ron right there and then

I agree. This is as close to a sure thing this team has had in a loooong time and Ron has to have them ready to go from the first whistle. This game will be closer than it should be but I think the Commanders get the win and Ron stay for another week.

I doubt new ownership is looking to can Ron right off the bat or even during the season. Definitely wouldn't be a good look for them.

It would be Danny-esque to fire a coach midseason in your first year of ownership.

Harris isn't that dumb. Ron gets the whole year unless things go horribly off schedule and he has some sort of health issue that allows him to gracefully step down.

I still think he retires at the end of the year if no playoffs or quick playoff exit.

Probably not, but it could be viewed as cutting all ties with anything DS and getting your people in there. If they gave EB the interim position it would also be a positive spin.

I definitely do not think they will do it but I just don’t think it would be as bad a look because of the situation.

Unless the team truly implodes, I doubt that happens. Mid-season firings are seldom seen as justifiable (except recently for Urban Myers) and more of a sign of a team management dysfunction.

Zero chance Harris fires Ron during the season.

I agree. No matter what happens Ron is here for 17 more games.

The OL has to be improved over last year, how much is the question. EB's schemes can certainly help as well.

Oh if i had to wager there is no way i say he gets fired. Just speaking hypothetically that if it did I don’t think it would be looked at as dysfunctional but as cleaning house. I agree with you though Ruh they would have to completely implode. “Hey we wanted to give Ron one more chance - we saw enough “.

But, again, I think Ron has a full season to show something because we aren’t going to implode.

This raised an eyebrow for me. I hope this is not connected to Terry's injury.
