Re: Ron Rivera fired

The hate is real, but I appreciate his effort. He was dealt a bad hand from the get-go and honestly never had a real chance. I'm glad he's cancer free. I'm glad he's free from what once was - this franchise. I hope he finds success wherever he goes.

Re: Ron Rivera fired

People can say what they want about Ron during his time here, but he's coached up some good defenses in his time as a DC.

2004: No. 12 total defense, No. 13 scoring defense
2005: No. 2 total defense, No. 1 scoring defense
2006: No. 5 total defense, No. 3 scoring defense
2007: No. 14 total defense, No. 5 scoring defense (DC for part of the season after Chargers fired Ted Cottrell)
2008: No. 25 total defense, No. 15 scoring defense
2009: No. 16 total defense, No. 11 scoring defense
2010: No. 1 total defense, No. 10 scoring defense

+1

Snyder could make any coach look bad.

Nobody left here looking good as far as wins and losses went, but the rest of the league knew what was up. This was where you went to get paid and to use as a stepping stone to better opportunities.

Re: Ron Rivera fired

Please hire Ron Dallas. Please. First thing he will do is get in Jerrys ear about trading Parsons for position flex players!

I think Parsons would lose his mind if he had to play under Boring ass RR

you're assuming ron wouldn't cut him first. Ron hates having LB's on the roster.

Re: Ron Rivera fired

After fours watching Ron you should know that Ron will play him at CB because that gives position flex...... a phrase I hope I never hear again from the new regime

I don't really feel this way. He knew, or should have known, just what type of man he was getting into bed with. He was not dealt a bad hand, he put himself in this bad situation and then failed miserably at every aspect of the job. I grew tired of his excuses such as claiming this was a young team when the truth was it was league average in age. He asked for full control of personnel and then turned into the worst talent evaluator we have ever seen in Washington.

He IS a good guy and I am glad he beat cancer (for now) but I'm not going away from this feeling anything good about Ron Rivera.

The sad part of this is there is some truth to it.

Forbes, BSJ, and everyone else in the secondary have to be excited to this move. Dallas has put their secondary in position to make plays not wait and react to plays.

This is how Rivera coaches defense:

Alright, you're a good safety, but can you play outside linebacker?

There's no telling what type of crap Snyder told Ron in the interview process. Hell, Snyder touted this "coach centric system" in Ron's introductory presser, and then proceeded to force Ron to stick with Haskins.

I don't want to sound like a Ron apologist, we all know he did plenty of crap on his own to aid in his demise with his personnel decisions both on players and coaches. But some of you sound like Ron was coaching for Robert Kraft or some other amazing owner.

Snyder was terrible. He meddled in QB decisions at least twice in Ron's tenure (Haskins and Wentz), was sucking the team for money and who knows how this affected free agency, and there's all the harassment and fraud lawsuits that I'm sure were a distraction. You could combine Steve Walsh, Joe Gibbs, and Vince Lombardi into a single coach, and that coach would likely fail under Snyder.

Re: Ron Rivera fired

Ron didn't get it done, I'm sure he would do a lot of things different if he had the chance, but it was an almost impossible job with the "coach-centric" BS and Snyder's shit pile of issues he dragged the organization down with.

But it's done, time for everyone to regroup and move on.

Amen to that.
