Eagles is hiring Kellen Moore as OC. This is an interesting move since he is well known for calling a lot of passing plays.

Kinda a meh hiring for the Eagles. Eagles offense doesn’t get better throwing the ball more.

Vic Fangio is a good hire, but don’t expect early returns because he’s gonna have to get guys who play the right technique up front.

@AdamSchefter
A change in San Francisco: Steve Wilks is out as the 49ers defensive coordinator.

Interesting fall guy. Kyle's offense didn't exactly get it done either. I think holding Patrick Mahomes to just 19 points in 4 quarters was pretty good. San Francisco just needed to punch it into the end zone in OT, and they didn't. Wonder who the successor will be.

100 percent. Wilks did at damn solid job.

Kyle blown 3 10 plus points leads in the SB. Enough, it’s a real thing with Kyle

Feel bad for Wilks. He should have been the HC last year in Carolina, but Tepper is a terrible owner. And now being used as a scapegoat because Kyle S. forgot to run the ball again in a SB.

they made it to the SB and it went to OT, does there really need to be scapegoat? There can only be one winner

Some of these teams are just so spoiled; if your team was above .500 possible made the playoffs and gave you some meaningful football to watch on Sundays; you are doing pretty good

I have not felt that since RG3's rookie season

It might be more than the SB game as we have to remember that the whole team admitted that the defense didn't do good job in the playoffs prior to SB. Maybe Kyle felt like Wilks didn't do a good job of preparing the team during playoffs. Nonetheless, it's interesting move since the defense played pretty well throughout the season.

I wonder if he's not a fall guy, but instead there was a similar situation to the Giants. Maybe Wilks second guessed Kyle's play calling and it escalated to 'this town ain't big enough...'?

Kyle had Saleh and Ryans before Wilks, they were pretty good on D. He made Wilks move from the both to the field after a few losses mid-season, Wilks is a pretty good DC but lacks the energy of the other 2, I think it comes down to trading for Chase, Gregory, getting Sebastian-Day on waivers, signing Logan Ryan and not producing a championship. Unfortunately it was easy to make Wilks the scapegoat.

I see why his ass got fired. I want no DC that's doing shit like this is a crucial game.

He was fired b/c he didn't get it done, he wasn't just a scapegoat. The defense got worse even though the team had more talent than previous year.

SF had the 8th ranked defense. #3 against the run. Yes they were middle of the pack against the pass, but they held Mahones and KC to 3 points in the first half.

Shanahan needs to accept that he is not the boy genius and not find scapegoats for his failures.

I gave Kyle shit for that game, but Kyle is brilliant when it comes to calling the offense. My only qualm with him is he doesn't know when to be simplistic at the most crucial times. He ends up trying to be too cute when he should keep it simple.

Hell, in Atlanta, he could have ran it all 3 downs using the clock fully each down and the Patriots still would have lost.
