Re: Skins/Bills postgame
There was some pretty laughable moments from the refs last night, they looked very amateur. I think it ended up being pretty even against both teams at least, but they missed alot of calls, made a ton of mistakes. I'm not really sure what the NFL is thinking, if these crews make it to a regular season game, it will be very bad.
I'm worried about Jarvis Jenkins, he seems to have lost alot of his pushing power. |

Re: Skins/Bills postgame
I only got to watch up to Garcon TD and then later the 4th quarter, but it was exciting nonetheless.
And I know everyone here hates bleacher report but i think this is a good read on the standouts and recaps a lot of the things many of you and other people are saying: 10 Observations from Washington Redskins Preseason Opener | Bleacher Report

Re: Skins/Bills postgame
I was mostly impressed at the fact that RGIII was going through his reads, not just getting the ball snapped to him and throwing to the first receiver he sees. He looked off of Garcon before hitting him for a nice gainer. He made some good reads and quick decisions. He really didn't look like a rookie out there. Of course, I want to see how he looks against the Bears defense next week.
I think Coach Shanahan wanted to see how well that right side would run block - which is why you saw a lot of running plays to the right. They have some work to do, as Royster couldn't really find any running lanes. And of course, all the passes to Banks is to evaluate his chances at making the team as a wide receiver. He has the speed, but he looked awful out there. I know a few of those passes would have been difficult passes, but you gotta do the impossible if you're going to make the them. I was extremely impressed with Crawford - both in coverage and with his punt returns! I was also extremely impressed with Hank on that one catch - the big guy has some moves and he's going to be exciting to watch this year!

They didn't call it a touch back they said the first person to touch the ball went out of bounds. It was like number 72 went out of bounds but it was number 71 who downed the ball. While it was a bad call it something that always happens. They did not loose the challenge because it was over turned. |

Re: Skins/Bills postgame
On one hand I'm glad that RG3 played as well as he did and that we saw Cousins struggle a bit. Honestly it's easier for us media wise if RG3 shows his flashes and establishes himself first before Cousins starts to show his promise. With that said I was surprised at how much he struggled. I mean he was just forcing stuff left and right and struggled to find any semblance of a rhythm. I know its early but it makes me wonder if Cousins will ever be the type of preseason hero that tempts a team to part with a day 1 or 2 draft pick a couple of years down the line.

Evil grin needs to adopt the pic as his Avatar!
My simple observations: Cut Banks and RGI now! Just do it! Along with a lack of scores by the B&G, it was a sloppy game. Especially RGI and Banks. The OL wasn't great, just ok. Our team did just enough to win, and the Bills Offense looked like it was going on only 2-3 days of practice. Our secondary was ok.

Re: Skins/Bills postgame
Grossman still has value as the #2.
Cousins isn't going to be ready for that this year. |
