Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Crucial offseason. You have to take advantage of a QB on a 5th round contract. Gotta nail this draft and bring a few key free agents.
The best part is Ron won't be making any selections. Even if he is somehow kept, which I doubt, he won't be making the decisions. |

2024 Early Bird Draft Thread

Yup. Having Sam excel on this contract is what can set you up for sustained success BUT, like you said, they better nail it in the draft and FA. This is a rare opportunity to build a complete team without breaking the bank on a quarterback. Only way Ron is kept is if they make the playoffs and probably would at least need to show up in the playoff game. Even if they sneak in and get madevto look like first round fodder he is gone. |

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
I really want to go OL in the 1st round but I'd be tempted to use some draft capital to trade up and get Marvin Harrison Jr or Keon Coleman depending on how the board shakes out.
We need that true #1 weapon on offense and as much as I love Terry, he isn't that guy. |

He's a great receiver, leader, and tone-setter. But in an offense-driven league, you need at least one dominant offensive weapon and I don't think he's at that level. |

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
Small sample size. Obviously productivity is likely to decline for a wide receiver after 30.

I'm happy with Terry and think he still has several good years left in him but he's not a Devante Adams/Deandre Hopkins/etc. kinda receiver. He's a solid possession guy but last week was the first time in a year or so we saw him use his breakaway speed for big yards after the catch.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
I'd be fine with picking just about any position in the 1st round at this point with the exception of DT, RB, and QB. Upgrades are needed everywhere...
Just don't get desperate and reach for those positions of particular need. Too many examples of that not working out in the recent past. Just pick the very best player on your board - or find a trade partner to acquire more picks. |

Agreed. Every good team in the league has a bonafide stud on both sides of the ball. We do not have any. At least not one that has achieved that status yet. We need a game breaker on both sides of the ball. It is so obvious. |

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread
I am kind of done with the whole trade down acquire more picks thing, it rarely ends with you getting a superstar player and honestly our team needs a superstar talent.
