I agree. A few adjustments, less mistakes, who knows?

Re: What If...We Win?

I have no problem with retaining Zorn if he makes the playoffs. All the Skins have to do is win the games they are supposed to and go .500 inthe remaining games.

Re: What If...We Win?

If it was my decision I would keep zorn if the offense shows signs of improvement. so far this year i think our passing game has improved from last year with JC getting to throw the ball more and the passing routes seem to be longer (JC's increased yds/att).

imo our passing game has taken a big step forward, our O line has done a good job in pass protect. unfortunately for whatever reason it seems that our running game has taken steps back.

so i guess for me, if our passing game continues to improve and our run game can be brought back up to its normal production i think our offense will not be a problem. if this happens, id like to keep zorn and maybe add a more experienced play caller/offensive coord. (cam cameron would have been fantastic, maybe norv if the chargers dont do well). and of course retire greg blache.

go skins!!

The running game though has suffered the most and I think with the type of players we have and the way we were successful last year it's imperative that we get the running game going. Unfortunately I don't think we have the OL personnel to do it. The left side ironically is fine, whats not fine is running it there most of the time with what appears to be a worn down running back on his last legs.

Our main problems though as it relates to the O-line are that from center onto the right side. As of now we have an undersized center past his prime, a mauler at right guard, and a pass blocking RT that can't run block well. What we need is a bigger center, a pulling guard, and a mauler at RT that can hold his own in pass protection.

Part of me believes that Mike Williams is closer to what we need at RT then Heyer but between his fitness level and his struggles in pass protection I don't know if we can afford to put him in yet and even then he's only a stopgap. I guess we can wait till the end of the year and see how Rinehart turns out but either way we are going to need a new RT and a bigger Center. If anything those should be two of our first three picks in next years draft.

Re: What If...We Win?

I think the problems are all above Zorn so in my mind he can stay if they have a winning record and the offense improves and is somewhat responsible for them being a winning team. The coach of this team is irrelivent as long as Vinny is steering the ship.

Re: What If...We Win?

All I think Zorn really needs to do is keep giving the notion that there's legitimate hope in this team for the future. If at some point, Snyder doesn't believe that better times are ahead, he'll cut his losses.

There's no set amount of wins, 7-9 could get Zorn extended if the offensive line gels and we win shootouts with teams like Atlanta, New Orleans, and Philadelphia with Campbell getting involved in the offensive POY discussion. Because that would represent significant progress.

What can't happen is that we fail to win a game between Week 7 and Week 13. Because that's the meat of our schedule, and if we lose 6 games in a row (even if we win the next three), Zorn probably doesn't even make the trip out to Oakland with the team.

I think he has to go deep into the playoffs, and win convincingly..

We should start a thread about the roles that Sasquatch possibly might play in football.

What happens if the Mayans, Egyptians, and Nostradomus are right about 2012?

In all seriousness the Bucs in my opinion are one of the worst teams in the league so the question should be what if we lose? If we lose to 2 terrible teams in back to back games, the shit is gonna hit the fan. Zorn needs to show Snyder that he can score some points. I mean the Saints have scored more TD's this year(14) then we have in our last 11 games.

We lose to the Bucs at home season over, it is that simple. The Bucs are one really shitty team, even worse than the Lions. WE can take one with Dallas, but the Gmen and Philly, we will have 0 chance of beating, with our suspect D.

The Maya calendar has yet to predict the end of the universe and be mistaken. You can take that prophesy to the bank.
