Looking at CB1, DE1, a Safety to pair with Quann Martin, and an OT.
This year’s goal was to really see what we have, what our identity will be and also what pieces we truly need. Luckily JD5 has masked alot of flaws, but this upcoming draft and free agency in 2025 will be very impactful…knowing exactly the pieces to pick for the perfect ‘fit’ with the deeper understanding of our roster.

JD5 will be an exciting player many will want to play with, should provide us some advantages in free agency and mid season trades

In the meantime, get Davis back on the field and out him at his natural position. He can spell Wagner who got abused last week. He at least he adds some speed. Not a fan of just benching him. Seems kinda of useless sitting one of your best athletes.
After four years in the NFL Davis still doesn't have a clue about how to play the game of football. He represents another wasted draft pick of the Snyder era.

Exactly. I think it is clear that we would not have been any better off with Davis dressed than with him on the bench at this point.

our coaches haven't shown hidden agendas... if he's not playing, it's probably for football reasons (i.e. not good enough).

I don't know about that. If there's someone out there that's a good fit, it's only week 7. The goal is to be clicking down the stretch, like seven games from now. There's no reason in the world why a good mid-season trade for the right player can't help this defense, even if that player can't contribute immediately.

Now I don't know if that player (or players) is out there and whether the price is right, but to just say: "nah, not interested in helping the defense this year", is a bad approach IMO.

Right player, right price i would also not close the door completely. The D needs help in the secondary bad, I think possibly even more than an edge rusher sans being elite as hell which doesn't usually fall in the 'right price' category.

Re: Potential trades

Rumour of Forbes going to the Chargers. If that happens I'd certainly consider a trade with the Browns for Newsome. Not likely to cost much more than we get for Forbes, so no real impact on the 2025 draft ammunition. Can we get a quality pass rusher though? Put our hat in teh ring for Reddick? 🤔

Re: Potential trades

I am hoping Peters stuns us with a CB trade before the 5th. They have to be looking around, and he seems able to pull something off.

Re: Potential trades

Until this week I thought the odds were against a big trade, but I think the belief this game has given everyone is probably going to prompt him and Quinn to look for 1 or 2, maybe even 3 trades to boost our chances this year. Looking at the schedule, you can't ignore anyone, but they're all winnable games. The Giants now have to be sellers (Ojulari) and Browns are probably considering their CB room. Boost the OL too?

Re: Potential trades

Tell me who you are trading for now

2 players I’m gonna call about and offer first round picks for:

Jamar Chase…are not gonna get a deal done? Call and find out. We have the cap for a top 5 WR

Micah Parsons…loves Quinn and others have been taken care of on that roster. Call and offer a 1 and late round pick. Immediate extension

I’m big game hunting

Re: Potential trades

I'd love to see Jaycee Horn, but it seems that the Panthers are telling people he's untouchable. He felt like the most realistic target to me. While I think the makeshift defensive backfield has been a little better than I expected in recent weeks, I think the injection of an actual #1 corner would really help.

I don't see that Bengals giving up Chase, not to mention how it would upset Burrow. But Parsons is an intriguing suggestion. While he's not making noise, he deserves a deal and the Cowboys are going nowhere fast. He loves Quinn and if he dropped a trade demand on Jones, every chance they decide to take an offer. But trading to us?...

Parsons on this team if healthy makes us a legitimate SB contender THIS year. He is that good and dominant. Love his endless motor and relentless pass rush. Definitely worth a call, however I highly doubt it would be answered.

Lattimore? Saints are in cap hell and aren’t going anywhere this season.

Potential trades

I think CB is the biggest need now. Not sure how easy it is to integrate a new player to the D though. (Or offense for that matter.)
