With Martin i honestly think wed lose the remaining games. IOL has been huge for our run game. Flowers -- odd he hasnt signed anywhere. Maybe hes one of those players that doesnt love football? Agent is Drew Rosenhaus so you know hed be burning the phone lines to get him on a roster if thats what Ereck wanted. I always saw him as an average starter level player, better in run vs pass. Def not a 10M per year player imo. Played college ball in Miami .. played a year or so in Miami ... maybe he just wants to soak in the Miami sun and live the good life. |

Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
That sounds good to me. Hoping the rest of the OL is relatively healthy.

Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
Kinda begs the question of why is Martin even on the roster?

Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
Only because our guys have been so dinged up. I suspect that they feel the need to have someone -- anyone -- to plug in. It seems like everyone, with the possible exception of Leno -- has missed some time this year.
What ever happened with Erik Flowers? I don't recall him signing anywhere. So strange that he's fallen off the map (although perhaps I am wrong about that).

Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
Definitely a red flag they'd rather play a guard at center over him. Think he's just a body at this point.

Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
Definitely strange about Flowers, the guy is only 28 and we know he can play. Maybe he's too stubborn when it comes to $$ or he simply is ok with sitting out a year, who knows.

Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
Whatever Flowers thought he was due in FA he won't be getting if he tried to land with a team next year. Being out of the league for a year will surely hurt his value -- probably more than if he had signed for a bit less than he wanted earlier this year. Seems a waste. We could certainly have used him this year.

Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
The 49ers are a better team than us. Flat out. We can beat them. But to me it's like 70/30 odds in their favor. If they had Jimmy G, it would be a little lower than that.
If it was home game, I think it could be closer to 50/50.

Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
The difference between SF and Commanders, better OL and LB’s. The key to beating SF is to stop the edge running (they love edge running) and for Washington to establish the run. Their LB’s are quick and support their DLinemen very well.

Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
We can beat anyone if we can hold them below 17 points. Not really a winning formula but its our formula. Great D and ball control. No room for error.
We can hold the 9ers to 17 or less .. as long as their D doesnt get a pick 6 or multi turnovers. |

Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
My mom is a 49ers fan and one of my best friends is a 49ers fan. Beating them would be sweet. If we lose, I'll hide my phone from myself for a day or 2.

Re: COMMANDERS BYE WEEK THREAD
Much like ATL did with us, I think SF will test our run D to the max.
And nobody schemes up a passing game more QB friendly than the Shanahans. Let's get by NY first though and worry about them later. |
