Jacobs went to the Packers, that's why they released Jones.

I suppose so....

After reaching agreement today with free-agent RB Josh Jacobs, the Packers informed RB Aaron Jones that he is being released, per source. Jones now will be a free agent.

Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start

Ed Werder from ESPN just got fooled by a fake Adam Schefter Twitter account.

Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start

RBs are getting paid, good for them.

@MarkMaske
Josh Jacobs has lined up a deal to sign with the Packers, source confirms. So the running back deals today include Saquon Barkley to the Eagles, Jacobs to the Packers, D'Andre Swift to the Bears and Tony Pollard to the Titans.

Next up will be Aaron Jones.

Re: Around the NFL - FA tampering/start

Saw this on Yahoo! Sports:

"The legal tampering period of NFL free agency begins Monday at noon ET, and we should expect New England Patriots free agent offensive lineman Mike Onwenu to be a coveted player.

Onwenu is not only a tremendous player based on his on-field performance over the last four years, he's also a very versatile player with his ability to excel at both tackle and guard.

Mike Giardi of the Boston Sports Journal reported Monday that the Washington Commanders, New York Giants, Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens are among the teams believed to be interested in Onwenu."

I hope we can get this deal done. Owenu could lock down our RT position for years to come. He's 26 years old. Can play either OG position as well.

Re-signed with the Pats 3yrs $57M.

I wanted us to go after him. If not the answer at LT, he could have at least anchored the right side with Cosmi. And he's young. :|

Got to think we're looking at one of the remaining T's because there's no guarantee we'll get a starting T in the draft.

Damn was one of my top 3 targets I wanted for the Skins (Got one in Luvu). Hunter is still out there and we still need an edge rusher.

Depth isn't too good at OT in free agency though. Smith for 1 year???

Packers doing non-Packers things:

@RapSheet
Another splash for the #Packers: They are expected to sign #Giants S Xavier McKinney, sources say.

He gets a 4-year deal worth $68M in a deal done by
@DavidMulugheta
of
@AthletesFirst
.

Packers are making moves like a team that expects to make a SB run.
