We are throwing a lot of capital…late round draft picks, udfa, some ok free agents, but I don’t see Trent Williams/Brandon Schreff walking thru that door.

I’d like to say better scheme and EB’s input to get the right guys he wants, but in terms of raw talent and a bunch of new starters trying to mesh…we gotta lotta work to do. I do believe EB can get it done tho.

Commanders signed Mason Brooks

Offensive Line | Ole Miss Rebels

Mason Brooks was an outstanding lineman for Western Kentucky – the same school that Mitchell Tinsley attended initially – playing both tackle and guard at a very high level.

He transferred to Ole Miss for his 2022 season and played mostly in reserve. But his physical tools – 6-foot-6 and 315 pounds – with good feet, and his smarts (he was a consistent honor roll student in college), have earned him a longer look in the pros.

A few months ago, Brooks was a first-round draft pick of the Memphis Showboats in the USFL. But he has opted to take a shot with the Washington Commanders after getting an offer in undrafted free agency.

Washington values positional flexibility. Brooks will probably kick inside to guard in the NFL, but he has ample experience at tackle and could be good in an all-purpose reserve role.

The Commanders’ interior line situation remains a work in progress. There are a lot of new pieces to juggle this season, and no one has a position locked up.

A spot on the final 53 may be a longshot, but Brooks should be competing with Aaron Monteiro, Nolan Laufenberg, and Keaton Sutherland for a couple of slots on the practice squad.
Spent 3 minutes trying to find Marcus Brooks (copied your 1st line name), couldn't find anything. Was like wow, he must really not be good. Mason Brooks has results.

No worries. I'm so hard-up for anything OT related, I couldn't get past the 1st sentence before trying to look M. Brooks up.

In terms of Mason Brooks, I like it. We need as much competition at the OT spots as possible (as backups to Leno and Wylie).

He's not NFL T material to begin with, so naturally the Commanders will start him out at that position and waste time that could have been used to develop him as a G where he belongs. I can hardly wait until we have a new owner, a new HC and a new GM.

The Five Most Likely First-Round Draft Busts in the NFC.

Is anyone here surprised that Forbes is on this list? Is there anyone who doesn't think he should be on it (If so who would replace him?)

Nobody has any clue who's going to hit and who's going to bust. But they got you to read their article anyway.

This is a terrible article. I mean by the same logic, should Bryce Young have bust potential since he's also undersized?

Also, Gonzalez was picked right after Forbes, so it is not like he slid down to the end of the first round.

I guess I feel like to be a bust, you have to be hyped up and/or picked within the top 5, maybe top 10 in the draft.

Forbes is going to bust a nut right in this articles eye.

We promoted from within right before the draft

Out of the offensive linemen, I'll go Skoronski since many think he will play Guard in the NFL, rather than Tackle. Doesn't necessarily make him a bust though (Scherff) depending on how he does.

But honestly I'd go with Jack Campbell if it isn't one of the offensive linemen. He would be way before Forbes on my list as far as potential busts go - relative to draft position. The only reason Forbes is considered at all is due to his size.
