I have more faith in a guy that has actually been a starter in the NFL to a guy that has been nothing more than a 3rd stringer since he has been in the NFL. Now it would make a great story if Beck could become the starter, but I think it won't be too hard to rattle the guy if I am an intradivisional rival. I say that just because the guy is almost still basically a rook in experience. I am not a Beck hater, but I do want a guy that has earned a starting spot outright, been a starter for a decent amount of time and has a SB appearance under his belt to boot!!!
Beck did look good against the Indy starters.

And again, he started 4 games, so he has been higher than 3rd string. And he will be 2nd string at worst here. Time to lose that argument.

Yes -- Jaws summed it up best: A sixth-year QB has no business doing that against 3rd string defenders.

It's funny how the baseline for Beck has changed. Folks were wondering if he could beat out JaMarcus Russell. Now he has shown he can carve up second stringers(and first stringers too, the then 13th ranked Colts), and yet he's still third-string/JaMarcus Russell.

Re: Redskins-Ravens: Gameday Thread

I like Clemens as a guy but as a QB he's junk. I feel safer with Chappell or Gutierrez as a 3rd stringer and that's not a good sign

Sorry I missed it. Does Jenkins have a torn ACL? I heard it was just a sprain.

Re: Redskins-Ravens: Gameday Thread

In all seriousness, my only concern right now is Jenkins. I hope the sprained knee prognosis is correct and its not something more serious.

Re: Redskins-Ravens: Gameday Thread

Stallworth hasn't shown much and Locklear is still learning but is probably at risk too.

Stallworth not doing great isn't a prob since that may mean keeping some rookie WRs or Banks...but I don't like backup RT's and backup ILB not doing well.

Overall the team looked solid...particularly in the first half...I am fine with either QB...it probably makes sense to start beck and have a vet backup...I really think Shanny is settled at RB since he didn't give any other RB's a shot tonight other than his projected top 2....Torrain is likely #3

Learning to what? Block? If you haven't learned that after 7 years, it might be time to reconsider your football career.
