Re: MLB thread
Not looking good for Bonds or Clemens getting in. Glad to see Buck O’Neill get in what an ambassador of the game!

Re: MLB thread
Never thought I’d see the day where both bonds and Clemens not in…now make sure A-Rod never gets in

Re: MLB thread
I couldn't disagree more. I think it's a shame and an embarrassment that those guys aren't in the HOF.

Re: MLB thread
With regard to Bonds and Clemens, I'm kind of on the fence. On one hand baseball has a pretty storied history tied to cheating and guys doing whatever they can to get an advantage, and on the other I understand those that have no tolerance for what went on during the steroid era. Bonds and Clemens both would have had Hall worthy careers, roids or not.
I don't know how you can tell the story of baseball in the 80s and 90s without talking about those guys, so I guess I'd lean towards putting them in at the end of the day. |

Re: MLB thread
I really hope baseball gets a deal done today. Very sad if they can't put their egos aside for the good of the game.
It's probably going to be a long year for the Nats but I don't care. I'm ready for some baseball. Seeing Max in a Mets uniform is going to hurt really bad. :-( That parade and incredible 2019 run seems like it was 10 years ago. |

Re: MLB thread
According to Evan Drellich, Ken Rosenthal, and Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, MLB told the players on Monday that they have indicated a willingness to miss a month of games from the 2022 season.
The full extent of the conversation isn't yet known, but Drellich adds that MLB "took a more threatening tone" than they did during CBA negotiations on Sunday. Not exactly what you want to hear with MLB's self-imposed Monday deadline before regular season games will be canceled. It's easy to see this as a threat from the players' perspective, trying to test their will with the "deadline" rapidly approaching. MLB commissioner Rob Manfred recently said that missing games would be a "disastrous outcome for this industry," but apparently he's prepared to let that happen. Manfred is a terrible commissioner

Re: MLB thread
Since we lost the first week of the season here is a fun list a number to retire for every team:
https://bleacherreport.com/articles/...number-retired Lot's of good names that deserve it but plenty in there just to fill the void. Baltimore Orioles: Mike Mussina-This to me is a no brainer. Man deserves to be recognized at Camden Yards with the other Oriole HOF players. Yes I know he didn't go in as an Oriole but his career here was something special he wasn't a rental or stop gap. You guys approve of your teams nod? If not who would you go with?
