Kennedy, particularly recently, has sided with the liberal wing on some important votes. The most prominent one being the decision finding prohibitions against gay marriage unconstitutional. He is very much a "swing" vote.
If Trump appoints another originalist like Gorsuch, I will be pleased although most on the left will not b/c it would mean requiring each branch of the govt. to properly carry out the powers assigned them under the Constitution - and ONLY those powers. Any such judge would place the onus on the citizens to hold legislative law makers accountable.

Kennedy has been the biggest swing vote on the SC for a while now.
I have no doubt our President is going to nominate somebody who will uphold that principle. /sarcasm in case it wasn't obvious. |
