Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal

Zero chance of getting a 2 for a Trent Williams. Most likely a 3 or 4. I still don’t get why everyone is shocked that he’s still holding out or that he may never play another game for us. He said exactly that 3 months ago. He vowed to never play another game for the Redskins. There was no ambiguity in his statement. The Redskins may not have chose to believe it but the man made it crystal clear in June.

Where did the quote come from? A "source"? Until I hear it from him, I'm not jumping to any conclusions.

None of the starters played on offense or defense (which to me is a big issue). Yet, it would not surprise me if we see something come out of Trent's camp (via their mouthpiece JLC) if the team has a good preseason game.

Yeah I also don't get why zero starters played, like these mfers need the reps. We do some dumb shit man

Especially in the 1st series, we had back ups on the online going against f'ing Miles Garrett and Olivier Vernon.

I don't get it either. This team hasn't done anything in awhile and they are holding these guys out like they are coming off 3 straight Super Bowls. These team needs to get desperate yet they cruise along like nothing is wrong. Makes no sense.

Jason La Canfora on June 5 via Twitter...

"Trent Williams issues with Skins are not financial at all according to numerous sources with knowledge of the situation. He's told teammates he has demanded a trade or his release from the club due to their handling of his recent medical situation. Has vowed not to play for them"

T Willy, we all hate the front office but we still love the team. Come on, Dawg.

Fuck!
Totally. TW is old, injury prone, and one toke from being over the line. No way does a team part with a 1st or 2nd for him. Getting a 3rd would be a miracle. They should get what they can for him and send him on his way.

Agreed. Gruden is concerned about injuries after last few years. Can't play scared. These guys need the reps. They need to play at least 1-2 series minimum. All of them.

I think a team will pony up a 3rd for him. Maybe not now, but a playoff contender who loses a tackle for the year would consider. A 3rd for him at this point is very fair.

Jay has always made game 1 preseason game #5. That has been a very annoying aspect of his tenure.

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal

A RB, Duke Johnson from the Browns got traded for a conditional 3rd. I'd think that most likely the best LT would command more. I could see that the holdout gives leverage to the other team, but not if they lose their LT for the season. So, you wait...

That's what I feel they are doing. I honestly don't think the team is attempting to retain him. They realize and accept he's done in DC.

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal

I’m happy to pay T-dub a little more money and more guaranteed money over the next several years while we transition to Haskins, protecting his left side. It’s tough to find a top 3 performer at such an impactful position, even at his age.
