50/50 chance they all bust. But I'm on the Daniels train. I think there are quite a few people who disagree with me on him, and that's OK. You all have the right to be wrong.

LOL, so lazy.

Besides the fact Daniels can run, he is nothing like RG3 imo. Caleb can't be like Murray and Mahomes altogether, those are 2 completely different QB's.

Lol. So true.

For me it is
Maye
Daniels/Williams

Can someone tell me what Maye has done to get all this draft praise? I watched a bit of the Clemson game and he didn't even look like a first rounder at all. He didn't look as good as the other guys. He struggled the entire game. Looked lost. Looked like Tribusky.

He's similar to Howell in regards to how he looked better his 2nd to last year compared to his last year. His numbers were better in 2022.

https://www.espn.com/college-footbal...452/drake-maye

UNC was a mediocre team. If you watch his highlights, that's how you know if you like him or not (as a casual fan like us, not a scout/GM), unless you're a UNC fan and watched all of this games. He has all of the tools.

Drafting QB's isn't easy. Look at Allen's stats at his last year at Wyoming. They looked like high school numbers.

QB's, all in the eye of the beholder in the 1st round. We all have our favorites, and have no clue if they will actually be good or not.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread

For me, I'm at the point where I don't really care who they draft. I just want the new regime to come in with a plan and execute it to a T. If that means starting over at QB, because they really like one of these prospects coming out - so be it. If that means building around Sam, because they think the QB of the future is already in the building - super.

I'm just grateful that we will almost certainly have competent folks running the operation from top to bottom soon. Something we haven't seen in a very long time.

I totally agree with this. I think it's a 99/1 chance, we draft a QB at No. 2, but if we don't, I'm OK with that. Hard to complain if we walk-away with Harrison, Fashanu, Alt, or a boatload of picks from a trade (if we don't go QB).

Give me Daniels, Maye, Harrison Jr., Fashanu, Alt, or more picks. But I'll be happy regardless, w/ any of those options.

Re: 2024 Early Bird Draft Thread

Caleb Williams is the only college QB in this class who grabbed my immediate attention. That's because he improvises like Mahomes, throws like Allen, and makes incredible plays like both of them. He's the one I want unless he suffers a serious injury such as a split finger nail.

I basically agree with this other than I don't want to pick a player at 2 that isn't a QB. If they don't like the QBs or they like Howell, you have to trade the pick. There's just so much value in a QB-desperate league. I love the guys you mentioned, but I would much much rather they trade back.

my only concern with either him or maye is they really haven't played anyone great, williams has a few more top 25 opponents but Maye hasn't seen shit

if you put me in a grassy field with first graders, i am going look pretty good at QB

F all these rookie QB's. Bring back Kirk, draft Harrison, draft a couple o-linemen, get a better coach, bring in some free agents and we're on our way.. :-)

So I am a UNC fan, watched all his games and Howell's. I thought there was an outside chance that Howell "could" become a really good NFL QB, but I wouldn't have bet on it. With Maye, I would bet on it. From his first start, you could just tell he had that "it" factor. So he started 2 years, and had 2 completely different OC's and offenses. Last year he had Josh Downs too(starting for the Colts this season) and would he break away, Maye would hit him...pretty much every time. They had a much better run game last season as well...but a bad Oline both years, and the main reason he looked rough against Clemson in my opinion. My comp for him is Justin Herbert. He's got the size, the arm, the brain, and he does not get rattled...and he will take off and run too. Also been very durable...did not miss a game.
