Re: Brunell Starting
Gibbs makes me sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Brunell is not the answer and never has been. Seems like everyone in this city realizes it but Gibbs. He gave Brunell many, many chances last year. Kept him as the starter way too long and it cost us a chance at a decent season. Then, he says that Ramsey is his man, so one would expect the same degree of loyalty shown to Ramsey. Instead, Ramsey gets to play less than 1 game before Gibbs takes away his starting job. Where is the integrity and loyalty that everyone always attributed to Gibbs? Where is the sense of fairness? Does Gibbs honestly think that Brunell is the better choice. If he truly does, then he's lost all sense of judgement and football common sense. I know now that we are in for a long and terrible season from our offense. After today's announcement, I am truly beginning to believe that Gibbs made a mistake in coming back and that he no longer has what it takes to lead this team. |

Re: Brunell Starting
Count me off the Gibbs bandwagon. When is it going to sink in, few if any people can successfully be both coach and GM. Gibbs the GM has pretty much ruined this season before it even began. To go all along and say Ramsey is the starter and then to bench him after 1 1/4 quarters is absolutely the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. Hell Peyton Manning did not look so hot initially against the Ravens D, would Gibbs bench Manning????
Is Antonio Brown still on the team? He should be cut if this going to be the standard by which players are going to be measured. Gibbs' pride is going to ruin this team, how can any of the players trust what he says now? Gibbs is the only person in the NFL who thinks highly of Brunnel in terms of being a starter. Mark my words Redskins fans will regret this decision for a long time, we can basically say goodbye to Greg Williams he will be a head coach again and with him will go a lot of the defensive coaching talent after this season which will be no play-offs AGAIN. All because Gibbs has to have his precious. |

Secondly, Gibbs is loyal to the Redskins organization. If he believes Ramsey hurts the team more than Brunell, he's got to go with Brunell. You can't be loyal to one player over the team. This is football- not tennis. |

Re: Brunell Starting
I can't believe some people......
Whoever Coach Gibbs picks is the best option. Personally I'd want to start Campbell, but if Coach doesn't think he's ready he probably isn't. |

Re: Brunell Starting
Gibbs may be loyal to the org and I'm sure he thinks he is making the right choice. That's what makes it all the more scary - that he actually thinks our chances of winning are better with Brunell.
I'll say it again- get ready for another dismal season, unless of course Brunell gets hurt. If that happens and with how Gibbs has treated Ramsey, don't see how Ramsey can be put back in, so that leave us with the rookie. This is a nightmare and we've only played one game! If we have any significant injuries on defense, we'll be lucky to win 5 or 6 games. I've already written this season off. Thanks for nothing, Gibbs! |

Re: Brunell Starting
The way some people talk you'd think Gibbs is secretly working for Jerry Jones.
Gibbs is our coach, he is loyal to the Redskins and will do whatever he believes is necessary to win. Why did we hire him if we didn't want his opinion? |

Re: Brunell Starting
With this move, Gibbs is proving the game has indeed passed him by. He single-handedly has thrown the team into turmoil after one week. Now that's BAD coaching.
He'll stick with Brunell, and we'll go 6-10 again. |

So far in Gibbs II we have the good Greg Williams hiring Portis trade Then we have the bad Brunell $43 Million contract 6-10 record last season. In Gibbs II we have a cumlative record of 7-10, hardly awe inspiring and now a team that if probably close to disarray with the QB controversy. If Ramsey is not the answer Brunell sure as hell is not either, might as well thrown in the rookie and see if he was worth the first round pick. This team WILL NOT go to the playoffs with Brunell. Before anyone hyperventilates and throws out the Ravens comparisson, at least Dilfer could throw the deep ball and occassionally challenge the other team, rag arm Brunell by his own addmission could not even throw the pass that was picked off but called back because of penalty as far as he wanted to, he was ten yards short. |
