Studs and Duds

https://www.hogshaven.com/2022/10/10...studs-and-duds

Studs: Sweat, Holcomb, Brown, Smith-Williams. All worthy of the stud evaluation. At this point does it matter?

Duds list is thin and to be fair this was the most complete game they have played maybe all season, but the list should have been longer IMO.

They should assign scores to the level of studliness or dudliness. If so, Norwell's score would be so low that it would drown out any positives -- the guy is a disaster.

Also, I just came across this disturbing stat about our Commodes:

19th in offensive yards; 26th in points per game.
18th in defensive yards surrendered, and 28th in points allowed.

So, even though we can sort of move the ball and even though we can sort of defend the field, we fuck it up when it really counts. That seems to highlight the coaching problems even more.

How is McCain not on the duds list? He gave up that long pass from Tannehill -- the ball floated in the air so long, I was tempted to get on a plane from SF, fly to DC, run on to the field, and try to make a play for it myself.

I believe I heard Chris Cooley mention similar last week. They're both having trouble consistently separating off the jam.

It’s because they are both small.

Thankfully, they both have strong numbers on contested catches. I am sure there's more to be done to create separation in terms of technique. I wonder if we have coaches to impart that?

Did Terry have this problem his previous years?

Dotson I understand, Terry I don't.

Unable to watch the game, had some issues at work. Appears it was a good thing I missed it.

The game itself wasn’t honestly too bad. The true losers of the game was Wentz (at the end) the Oline, Turner and Rivera.

Re: Commies lose to Titans postgame thread

this was possibly the most watchable game this year. DL finally looked like it's supposed to (but no idea if the titan OL is any good, tannehill obviously isn't). I don't know how the OL can be fixed mid-season though; I would assume it can't/won't be fixed.

we're definitely not doing anything with the way the rest of the division is racking up wins, so I guess we have months of thumb-twiddling now? howell? at this point the W/L's are already not relevant (barring a miracle).

Lewan was out for the Titans so of course Sweat does damage against a back up. He is nowhere to be found in division games. He is starting to remind me of Orakpo.

Exactly, that’s why I didn’t get all hyped about him yesterday. Dude has been MIA all season until he played Tennessee. Show us u can do it every week like DLaw or Watt Etc

Re: Commies lose to Titans postgame thread

Terry - 5 catches on 6 targets; drew the crucial pass int call w 0:19 left; made an amazing contested catch w hard contact; had a great run after catch gaining at least 10 yards beyond expectation

getting off the LOS -- most D formations nowadays have the outside corners playing off like we do, slot on LOS ... so im not worried about Terry being slowed down by a quarter of a second at LOS (if that is even true)
----

Didnt expect to come in here on tuesday and see Terry McLaurin as of the negative talking points honestly.
