Re: The re-sign Orakpo thread

Orakpo did reach double-digit sacks for the first time since his rookie season......I think he deserves an extension.

Brian Orakpo says his preference remains to re-sign with Redskins

I know the Giants would like to have him , all players will say they want to stay with the team they are on but most take the money .

Injured again vs Dallas. While I'm not totally against re-signing him I think the Skins should be careful about how they do it. No way would I break the bank on this guy.

Yeah unfortunately a good pass rusher on the open market is going to get big bucks

True but he now seems injury prone.

Yeah, if he misses next week then it's 3 out of 5 seasons he finishes injured, that's not a good track record. Good thing is it may limit his suitors/price tag and allow us to get him at a better price.

Re: The re-sign Orakpo thread

Tweaking a groin on a sloppy field hardly makes him injury prone. It doesn't seem to be anything serious.

Re: The re-sign Orakpo thread

if it's in the same ballpark as dumervil's; yes

if orakpo wants $10m/year; no

dumervil is several years older but more productive, i actually think the ravens got a great deal on him; i'd be very happy if the redskins could lock orakpo up for 5 years for under $40m.

Rak has more sacks and tackles than Dumervil.

As for signing him for less than $40M, dream on.

It is amazing how some people want to think he will sign for around 25-30 million.

Yeah, I was just talking this year.

The Ravens got a great deal on him because of his age. In his prime he wouldn't be taking that discount and neither will Rak.

he's not even 3 years older than orakpo.

you think orakpo won't settle for less than $10m/year?
