Re: time to play GM
If i were GM I would tell Danny Boy and Shanny Boy no more trading draft picks for players ever again.

Re: time to play GM
I know there was some story about him leaving DC due to a woman he had an affair with. Otherwise, any reason Shanahan wouldn't want to bring him in as a 3rd cb to replace or pair w/Buchanon? I would love to see him back as an affordable depth signing, but don't see him starting ideally.

Re: time to play GM
Putting the off the field stuff aside, Champ wants out of Denver and wants to be on a SB contender, which we aren't.
I know the Skins are working hard and apparently close to locking up Los (and not as close, but coming close to an agreement with Brown.) Not sure about Buchanon and Barnes, my guess is they let Buchanon test the market and Barnes gets another summer to prove he belongs. I'd seriously consider trading Hall (though I think the hate for him by some fans is too strong) and draft Prince Amukamara. Really doubt we'd trade Hall though.

Sign Los? Why? I'm ready for him to be gone

Re: time to play GM
I think McNabb's days of being a starter are numbered and his trade value has got to be at an all time low. Would Minnesota give us a pick after the Randy Moss debacle? I doubt it. Perhaps Arizona but they already drafted two young guys so I would say no there too.

Cool about a deal for Brown, so long as they feel he will be healthy next year & beyond. I could see him having a great 2011. |

Re: time to play GM
To put my plan another way, I was trying to think of starters I would keep in their current role.
OL: Williams QB: McNabb (I think he'd be a good transition guy to guide a young QB and keep the team from being abysmal for the short term) RB: No one (I'd bring in competition and make Torain/Williams win the job) WR: Armstrong TE: No one DL: No one LB: Orakpo, Fletcher DB: Landry That's about it, otherwise everyone is on the trade block, the chopping block, or already in the unemployment line. |

Re: time to play GM
QB is the most important position by far...If I am GM I am not getting out of the draft without having the QB of the future on my roster. Whoever the guy that Shanny decides he can win with is the guy I am getting. Last year they wanted Bradford but didn't pull the trigger...I won't let that happen if I am in charge.

Re: time to play GM
I've been saying it a lot but Kelly and Big Mike Williams are major, major wild cards for this team. The Skins are high (pause for laughter) on both of them being major contributors/starters for the team. If they can come back healthy. Kelly is ready to go but per NFL rules couldn't play this year and Williams is on his way to a full recovery (supposedly).
If Kelly is ready to go, I wouldn't do anything to the receiving corps expect get Austin in the regular rotation and get Banks more involved. And re-sign Moss for another year. Kelly, Austin, Banks, Moss, and Armstrong isn't going to shock the world, but give me that for another year and focus on building other areas of the team first

Re: time to play GM
Sign him becasue he can play and he's still in his prime. I am as frustrated by his butter fingers as anyone, but if we let him go then we need to either overpay a free agent or use a draft pick that we need for other needs to replace him. Good CB's don't hit the free agent market often and are not easy to find. And with all his faults he's still the best cover corner we have.

Re: time to play GM
I have knid of had it with moss myself but we do have bigger fish to fry so I wouldn't be opposed to putting up with him for another season if it means we have more resources to use on the lines.
