Re: Bowl Games: What prospects have caught your eye?
You're right Gus, he isn't easy to bring down and keeps his composure. Have you seen him play in person?

Re: Bowl Games: What prospects have caught your eye?
No, never have 53. I am a Eastern Mich alumni and they always play Central, but I couldn't catch any games because of work. You read a lot about him up here though and can catch MAC football on cable. He is a gifted QB and can make it in the NFL. He could be a first round pick, but since the Big 4 garners all the hype he might slip into the 2nd round for us. Sheehan from Bowling Green is pretty good as well, although I would probably pick Lefevour.

B) Oakland currently picks after us, but if we win tomorrow then we pick after them...theres no point at winning now, so hopefully we'll lose and get that better player. Because now we'll definitley be picking 5th, but we could be picking 4th at best overall meaning that we have an even better shot at getting Suh, McCoy, Berry, Okung, pretty much anyone you want. I know people are going to bash me for saying that I hope we lose, but theres no point at winning now with one game to go, and we should have been trying to win months ago. |

Re: Bowl Games: What prospects have caught your eye?
^^Carter is a tough SOB, don't think he'll fit in the Shanahan offense though.
Walter McFadden from Auburn was really good, and has NFL bloodlines which is always good. McCluster was great And Trahan the OLB/CB from Mississippi was always around the ball in coverage, we need more of those guys. And from last night, every Florida Gator played/looked great(Haden, Spikes, Tebow, Pouncey twins, Dunlap, Major Wright, Amad Black, Stamper, Hernandez [don't need him though], Riley Cooper) Cincy didn't have but two prospects and you can't really judge them from this game, since the whole team got man handled, but Mardy Gilyard is a great reciever and a even better returner, and thats saying something. Pike looked decent to me, and he didn't play stupid he played smart with the football. Nebraskas corner Prince Nakamura looked really good Michigan States LB Greg jones is fast and a hard hitter, could be a decent OLB |

Re: Bowl Games: What prospects have caught your eye?
This QB from Mich State (Cousins) has a big arm and is pretty mobile. Tonight is the first time that I have seen him play. If he had a decent line he could be killing Texas Tech right now. He needs to learn to step up in the pocket though. Another guy that has caught my eye is the RG of Texas Tech (Carter), the guy is 6' 6" 380 and pretty quick for a big guy. The announcers said that he handled arguably the best DL in college football eariler this year.
Caught highlights of the OSU game and I haven't seen enough of Okung to pass judgement on him yet, but the prelimenary results are positive. |

I agree, I doubt he fits the Shanahan style o line, thus Raiders.

Re: Bowl Games: What prospects have caught your eye?
i was on the road all day so i cant pass judgement on too many players since i missed the ole miss game. but from the past few days i can say this, and again im not going to say we should draft these guys, or not, im just pointing out any players that played well, most wont even be draft elegible.
ryan williams, rb, virginia tech- im a hokie so you may think im just being a homer, but this kid is amazing. breaking school records and acc records as a r-freshman, just ran hard against tennessee. knows how to find the endzone, he will be a high pick when he comes out. dwayne harris, wr/kr, ECU- Ive watched them a few times this year, and this guy is electric. great speed and vision, always a threat for the home run. he is a junior but will come out next year im sure. terrell pryor, qb, Ohio State- Im as big a critic of the big ten and all their schools as you will find, and an even bigger critic of their offenses, but pryor finally stepped up and lived up to his billing. for those that dont know, he was the #1 rated player in the nation coming out of high school by rivals, so he had big shoes to fill. he had a career day in the biggest game of his life, playing with a torn pcl. hes a true soph, lets see if tressell will let him build on this success, or will he revert to being hyper-conservative next year again. noel devine, rb, wvu- he has world class speed, junior this year so he could come out. has a penchant for the big play out of nothing, and showed that again against fsu.

Re: Bowl Games: What prospects have caught your eye?
True, but he is still a Freshman. We have to wait at least 2 more years for this kid is draft eligible. His backups aren't bad either. What that tells me is that they have a pretty good offensive line. I will admit though, Williams is head and shoulders above his backups.

He is a good player now in college but I don't see his transition to the NFL being all that good. I could be wrong but it is my gut feeling. If he turns out to be good I will happily eat these words. |
