Re: Do you have a "Scab Team"?

Being a Redskins fan is like being in a bad marriage. If I were to ever get out of it I would do something else with my time.
Also, The Redskins are my one true love, I could never be a true fan to another team.

Its hard to stick with the Skins right now, but the true fans will.
That was in '05.

Re: Do you have a "Scab Team"?

I'll root for the H.Rockets and the Texas Rangers which are usally bad but I dont get the same feeling Washington gives me. They give me the highest of high and the lowest of lows. As mentioned earliar about the Monday Night game with Brunell to Moss hook up man was that the greatest it immediatly put a smile on my face when i read that post.

Correct me if im wrong but I beleave it was Shawn Taylor that blocked a field goal and ran it back for a touchdown in the closing seconds against Dallas a few years ago. That was the greatest finish to a game if there ever was one.

But I cant root for an other team with the same passion and I am actually glad I found this site because before I never spoke with any true fans before. HTTR!!!

I get all the losing I can handle from the Skins, Orioles, Nationals, and Terps. It makes me feel better to watch winning teams.

Re: Do you have a "Scab Team"?

and as for that blocked field goal against Dallas post above....

it was TROY VINCENT, SEAN Taylor simply picked it up and returned it and also got a 15 yd face mask to put Nick Novak JUST... in range to win that game.

totally agree. the Skins are my one and only i root for. When your team is bad thats when you find who is a true fan.
I to agree I watch every game no matter what our record is. Thats what real true fans do. Anyone can root for a team when they are winning. True fans get tested when your team is awful like ours is at the moment. I still got faith they can win a few more games this season, if not i still will be watching at home in Cali.

Re: Do you have a "Scab Team"?

I don't really have another team I latch on to, I just like watching good football no matter who is on, well except for Dallas of course.

I'd like to see the Colts and Saints in the SB. Two of my favorite QBs in Manning and Brees.

I'm also having fun watching the Vikings this year with Favre. They have such a solid all around team.

Re: Do you have a "Scab Team"?

My girlfriend is diehard Raiders but I've made her into a Skins fan too so I gotta reciprocate and root for Raiders in the AFC -- talk about a rough few years for us!

But in the NFC this year would love to see Saints make the SB. Love it when historically bad teams make great runs. Would love to see Saints/Bengals, such a longshot though.

Re: Do you have a "Scab Team"?

While I'd never buy anything that wasn't Redskins related, I have family in Cincy, and have followed the Bengals since Boomer's days (doesn't hurt that he's a Maryland alum). I'm a fan of sports, so I'll watch the Caps, Nats, O's, Bullets, Terps Football and Basketball. A family friend's son just transferred to South Florida, so I've been following them a bit this year.

So, does that mean we fall under that catagory if we can pull our stuff together in hopefully a few years?

Which also brings up the question, how long do you think it will take before we are a real contender again?

Re: Do you have a "Scab Team"?

Not a particular team per se, but watching the Red Zone channel all day on Sunday the past two weeks has offered a nice reprieve. Not sure how the NFL Network version stacks up, but that and Short Cuts have to be the greatest innovations ever in NFL viewing.

Re: Do you have a "Scab Team"?

I am a die hard fan. Been with the Skins since my childhood, almost 50 years. I'm at the end of the rope, looking to jump off. I'm completely fed up with this organization and I'm boycotting the team. I'm not wearing any of their sh$t until Danny Boy hires a competent staff. I can deal with the losing. It's the lack of direction that's killing me. While on boycott I'm rooting for the Ravens. It's not with the same passions as the Skins but I can't give blind support to a franchise that does give a sh$t about their fans.
