Nicely put.

Not just versus NE.

If I say something critical about AH doesnt mean I think he is now a dud. But at the same time, I will look for these things during the regular season and see if they have been improved upon. I don't see what the problem is with this approach.
Well some folks have said that the defense has been very vanilla, so I hope that Blache has saved the best for the regular season. It would not surprised me one bit.

In regards to the NE game, Brady is a hard QB to pressure. Still, I think the team get some pressure during this game, plus we knocked him down once (not a sack, but I don't think we had many QB knock downs last season) . Also, I have noticed a lot of holding non-calls throughout the preseason (which makes sense if you are looking out for QBs), so I think we're going to see our defense knocking down QBs and causing opposing lines to draw holding penalties. And I do hope that we've seen the tip of the iceberg this preseason in regards to how disruptive our line can get.

Depth at defensive line gives the coaching staff options of rotating players in and out, keeping key players fresh for important plays. Look at how the Giants are able to rotate defensive linemen and keep pressure up front. I'm looking for the same type of effect in Washington. Keep Monty.

Exactly, defense wins games. Imagine just the 4 DL men getting to the QB without having to send a LB or CB.

I guess I must have watched the first team D in the Pits game with Rose Colored Glasses because I thought we had preasure on Ben just about on every play. Now against the Pats it seemed like they did a good job of protecting Brady but he also does a good job of protecting himself by getting the ball out very quick.

Monty most definaately needs to stay, hes a lock to move back into the starting lineup next yr. Cornelius Griffin has 1yr left, so he only needs to bide his time....Dixon will be on the PS this yr and move into the rotation as well once Griffin is gone......

NFL.com Blogs » Blog Archive Browns trade DT Louis to Panthers «

In less than a month two D linemen on the Browns have gotten into altercations with Brian Cox the fiery former player. One was immediately released and the other was quickly traded.

I don't know about the first guy, but the second fat ass cursed at Cox for making him work hard.

I absolutely love this. D linemen are notoriously unmotivated. If you don't want to work hard "hit the road!"

I think your assessment is spot on. Although with everything we've invested on the d line i don't think it's unreasonable to expect pressure on the QB against every offense we face.

^ I agree. The D-line should be bringing pressure each and every game, regardless of who plays on the other side of the ball.

We need future picks. Why let him go as a FA?

Snap!!! No love for Monty in your corner eh. Seriously tho he's been a disappointment to be sure. Maybe he really does have the talent and ability but it's never really materialized. I don't know. Anyway I like the idea of keeping Alexander over Monty cuz he's more versatile and never ever mails it in...

Re: Anthony Montgomery Angry about demotion

Maybe if Monty stomps on the face of a Cowboy during a game he'll get some consideration to start opposite fat Albert and then we'll have two Puke-oid face stompers on the D line.
