Re: Cutler vs Campbell
I know its preseason but JC's last 2 games do not inspire alot of confidence that he has raised his game in yr 2 of being in the WCO.

Re: Cutler vs Campbell
Dude, why so much love for Campbell. Your like borderline obsessed. Face it. He just isn't that great. How many excuses do you have to make for the guy.

Re: Cutler vs Campbell
I don't see GTripp giving love for Campbell. He's just being realistic. Campbell has only thrown a handful of passes and you really can't judge anything from so few plays.
I'm not giving JC love, either. I just dogged him on another thread for missing a potential big gainer. Perspective is needed.

Maybe I'm just that good. Or perhaps you're wrong. Or maybe it's somewhere in between. Who knows? Ultimately, Jason Campbell doesn't need any excuses. He's fine without me defending him. You however, need some perspective. That's my job.

Re: Cutler vs Campbell
Haha. Interesting banter & bickering. Regarding Cutler -- I think he's clearly better than Campbell, but it's arguable whether the price would be worth it. Honestly the franchise is better off sticking with Campbell -- *IF* Campbell does well, then we save a bunch of first round picks we could use for OLine, LB, RB, etc.. over the next years.
Remember, all we need is a decent offense to go along with an elite defense. And I actually agree w/GTripp -- Campbell did NOT look that bad yesterday. We had a great drive, and he loosened up the defense with the long pass attempts. Those long passes allowed Portis to get extra yards. He threw a a first down to Cooley when we needed it. He threw a decent (but slightly high) ball to Moss who let it slip through his hands. Two deep incompletions. Two passes into the ground because of blown plays. If Zorn wanted to see him throw, he could have called passing plays, but instead there were few passes to evaluate him. Next game we'll be able to see Campbell more, and I think he'll impress. |
