I hate the Jonas brothers. Btw, I'm 22. Not 13.

Excuse me if I find the plight and strength of other people moving. I forgot that Republicans are soulless creatures. (Note the sarcasm)

I'm ignoring your sarcasm and am now offended. Ok, not really. No offense with my earlier comment, just shocked that anyone buys that much of what either of these guys is saying. Maybe I'm jaded, but I just can't get worked up either way. I've got my opinions, but in general I think those that get too far down the path of hero worship are in for a huge letdown.

You're also a guy. I don't expect guys to fall for it or older experienced women, for example LadyB. But I'm still a college girl, I'd fall the same way if a Republican who held at least some of my core values said the same thing.

After someone seriously ruins politics for me, I'll end up as jaded as everyone else.

And no problem with the earlier comment.

Quote From Saden:
3. Like him or not Obama is a genius. He basically planned ahead to make sure whatever he decded he was covered under the law.

4. He get's the majority, 97% I beileive, of his money from small donors. Why handicap yourself my limiting the reach of your message when you don't have to? Even if you look at it from the "bright side" he's saving tax payers money and he's not accountable to any big interest lobbyists.

It seems that while Obama has said we need campain finance reform he has done little to track where he receives his donations.

He is going by the law, now I would like to see the law changed so that every donation whether it's $2 or over $200 is reported. As they say sunshine is the best disinfectant for that is ill.

thats a pretty weak defense for obama going back on his word saden. his intent was to accept it until he thought he could actually win. just weak.

Well not everyone shares your thoughts and he seems to be turning a blind eye to what he does not want to know. Why would he choose not to use the AVS system which screens donations. Instead they have their own system which makes it almost imposable to track who is giving what to his campain. Thats why all those people can give made up names and adresses and still have their donation processed. When they try it with McCain its rejected. This comes from a man who claims he wants all this reform and this is probably the reason he went back on his word for public financing. If you cannot track donations what stops someone from just giving and giving sums of money under $200 under different names? The answer is nothing. On top of that a bunch of the donations are coming from those gift credit cards which make it even tougher to trace.

There's a difference between what people are accusing him of and what he said and did. Saying he's "going back on his promises/pledge/word" simply inaccurate. Do you at least agree that he left the door open to the possibility that he would decline public financing?

He said he would have open discussions with the McCain camp on the rules but he changed his mind before the two had any meetings. So yes he did lie and I think he never had any intentions at all to use public financing.

What's your point? That he is committing a crime? That he is cheating the system? He's playing by the standards and as I have said I don't like the standards.

Let's not even talk about McCain who has his own set of donation problems revealed inadvertently by the morons that work for him who botched a simple publicity stunt meant shame/force Obama into releasing his donor list.

I decided long ago that I would be voting for Obama. I can't stand McCain on the grounds of his policies and incompetence. I simply hate incompetent people and right now McCain is standing on top of the Shiny Hill of Stupidania all alone with Palin and the rest of the crew half way to the top.
