I tell you what, and this is all in hindsight, but I'm not feeling as bitter about Gregg Williams getting fired now. Although the defense would have been stellar, I would still have some serious reservations about the offense. Because I doubt if Williams would have brought in Zorny if he his way.

So the trade off was, let Gregg Williams go, and maybe lose a little on defense. But in exhange you get Zorn to run the offense, who probably was an upgrade over whomever Williams would have let run the offense. Make sense? I know, it's all conjecture.

Redskins Insider:
"DT Anthony Montgomery and LB Rian Wallace were back doing a lot of work after breaking their hands in a scrimmage. Zorn said the team is fashioning custom casts for them - Zorn was pretty fired up about the whole fabrication process and was foaming at the mouth to be able to get in there and help make them (seriously)."

LOL

I think one advantage Zorn has, despite his inexperience, is his excitement. I mean, consider that you were in Zorn's position and, almost out of nowhere, you are asked to be the head coach for the Washington Redskins. The guy must feel like a kid at Christmas.

You can really sense Zorn's joy at all this. I get the feeling he's like that all the time. In his pressers, he's genuinely funny, in a spontaneous way. He's got a subtle grin and a gentle mocking tone with the reporters. But it's never mean or disrespectful. And when needed he displays his deep knowledge of the details of everything that's going on with the skins. He does NOT seem like a rookie head coach.

i wouldn't same he's inexperienced, he's been involved in football (collegiate and pros) for 30 years. I'm sure there's a jackass out there playing Madden 09 who thinks he can coach a team.

I don't play Madden but reading the post from all the pros here I have learned enough to easly take over a head coaching job in the NFL.

lol. Yeah, and I'm ready to be a player/coach/GM/owner. It's obviously very easy to do. What's weird is how the skins just can't see the obvious truths we all know here. Jerks.

I think Zorn would still have been the O-coordinator if Williams was hired as HC, but you make an excellent point. Defensive head coaches tend to have offenses that play as though the field consists of wet cement. Herm Edwards is Exhibit A.

This way, the defensive scheme stays basically intact, and the real problem, offense, gets the much needed attention.

What we saw was the Seahawks pass offense. Quick and to the point. I like.
