Bobby Beathard? Gary Clark? Russ Grimm? Chris Hanburger? Someone else?

I'll post a poll in a couple of days once the Spags and Fassel poll has gotten some "airtime" on our home page. But for now, just share your thoughts here
Statistically, Hanburger has a strong case. However, in terms of a player that dominated his position, I think Joe Jacoby should be a lock. The only player that was his equal or maybe slightly better was Anthony Munoz, who I believe got in his first eligible year. If Jacoby doesn't go in, then what other Left Tackle is deserving? I can't think of one. He was the best. And, the O-Line was easily the Redskins most dominant unit. Not having Jacoby or Grimm in the hall would be like not having anyone from the Steelers D-Line of the 70s in. The Hogs should be represented.

I voted for Joe Jacoby. He often drew the awsome task of having to block Lawrence Taylor at that point in time when the Giants were the Redskins chief advisary in the NFC east. All of the choices' are worthy of the honor, and at some point in time would like to see them all inducted.

They should just vote all of the hogs in at one time.

I voted Bobby Beathard, he's been a part of and/or responsible for 7 SB with KC, Mia, Wash and SD. That to me is a no brainer. Yes GM's are eligible, unfortunately for them, I think they have a better chance after they die. Jim Finks is in for NO but he's dead and George Young is also dead and was eligible this year. I guess poor BB will get in after he croaks.

I struggled between Grimm and Mosely, but had to go with Mosely. He may be one of the top 2 or 3 kickers ever. League MVP he earned should weigh heavy as an influnece for him.

If you love tough, physical football .... a dominant player for his time and a true Redskin, then my vote has to go to Dave Butz and his always gouged helmet.

I don't know about the others.. but I can tell you McKenzie never went to a pro bowl (a requirement to be eligible).

Re: Now That Monk Is In...

I voted for Hanburger. He played in more Pro Bowls then any other Redskins in team history including all of those already in the HOF with 9.

He wont get in but he might be the most deserving.

Grimm has the best shot IMO. The best O-Line of all-time and none are in the HOF? Thats kind of a joke to me anyway. Maybe Bugel should represent the Hogs.

What about Jack Kent Cooke?

Lachey's career was too short.

Clark is probably worthy, he has the stats and the rings.

Manley wont ever get in because of his off the field problems. He was one of the two most dominant defenders of his era with LT. It's too bad because he was a beast.

Mann was solid for along time but he was in Manley's shaddow for much of his career.

Butz is an interesting one because the defense was effective because of his ability to take up two or three blockers on every play but he only made 1 Pro Bowl. The extra attention Butz got let Manley and Mann to go one on one and allowed the linebackers to roam free. I always felt like Butz was the most important player on those defenses other then Darrell Green.

Mosley was a truly great kicker, the last of his kind but I have a hard time putting a kicker in above all the rest of these players being discussed here.
