Well that's just dumb...what in this guy's recent resume makes him any better than Williams...who, at this point, I don't think it will be. Snyder must be completely shielded from public opinion

So Williams may not be hired because he and Cerrato don't get along? I am not a Cerrato hater but if that f*cker is the reason we may have to start all the f*ck over then I will become one potentially.

IF it's Fassel, I too will be MAJORLY disappointed, but i'll support whoever. It will be yet another log on the fire of skepticism for Vinny Cerrato/Dan Snyder/the FO, b/c i don't think Fassel is a good coaching candidate.

I don't like the way this is going...we may have a new mediocre, x-giant, aging, can't get a job HC. Great.

Not necessarily... Pittsburgh, Dallas and SD all had 1st year coaches from outside the organization and they all made the playoffs..

this is getting scary. To me it was bad enough to read that Fassel might replace AS, but now this...

Wonder if Fassel becomes head coach & they actually want to keep GW? I can't see him staying, he'd have to feel insulted. Nothing's final yet, but this doesn't sound good to me.

There's no way.. He bolts and probably tells Snyder and Cerrato what he thinks about them on the way out.

Just to further fan the flames, can you imagine the irony if Fassel is the new head coach and he hires as his offensive coordinator

wait for it..

Jeeze, I hope "Fossil" is not headed our way. I know all of this crap is nothing but speculation, but "Fossil?" Are you kidding me? "Fossil?" If the 'Skins front office blows the selection of yet another H.C. (except Gibbs of course), I just may go mow my lawn come next season and fuhgeddabout watching this whole team come unglued. Our current roster seems to really be behind G. Williams, and that must mean something. If they pick someone like Fassel, or even worse, Mora, we can kiss the concept of continuity away for good (or at least until Snyder sells the team to Tom Cruise).

Agreed, if its Fassel, GW is out the door, for good reason. Bye bye good defense!!

True but you know we're losing more than just a head coach. We're potentially losing an offensive and defensive coordinators. I mean we'd practically be starting all over again. New offensive and defensive schemes, after we FINALLY starting learning Al Saunders bible. I really wouldn't hold my hopes too high going into next season.

But like you said, surprises do happen.

With maybe the exception of Pittsburgh, Dallas and SD already had a good team in place before their successors took over. If Fossil comes in, he inherits a good team, but not a dominant team like Dallas and SD were at the end of last season. Plus, Fossil is mediocre at best as a H.C. God help us all if this happens.

Re: Fassel meets with Redskins over coaching vacancies

This is the move that I absolutely do not want to see happen. If we hire him I will think even less of Vinny Cerrato and Dan Snyder. That doesn't mean I won't be rooting any less for them come fall, but honest to god I really think Jim Fassel would suck at any job we gave him. What the hell has he done in the modern day NFL, and I'm talking modern day, not 8 years ago, that should get him even mentioned as a top candidate? The entire team, not to mention what's left of the coaching staff, will probably be just as pissed as those of us in the fan base that do not want to see this guy hired. Seriously it's like once Joe Gibbs left Dan Snyder said fuck it, i'm going back to my old ways, who needs continuity and stability in the organization.
