Re: Make Your Day Two Redskins Draft Selections (Rounds 3-7)

I dont know college players well enough at this point. I wait to hear conversation or for people to distinguish themselves. Anyhow, I want a kicker late. I'd love to get a kicker and punter in here for the long term.

3rd: Chris Ellis DE Virginia Tech
4th: Trevor Laws Notre Dame DT ~ Beast
5th: Colt Brennan Hawaii QB ~ he could be that 3rd stringer learn the west coast offense reminds me slightly of Hasselbeck
6th: Tony Hills T Texas Backup project
7th: Brian Witherspoon CB Stillman 4.25 40 time enough said Rocks Replacement
Undrafted Free Agent: Rudolph Hardy, DE, Howard~Sounds like a good pick to me and Howard has put out some decent players recently

Yes, they have, surprisingly.

Actually, the last two years we have had a player on a winning Superbowl team. The funny thing is, that they always seem to be better when they aren't playin at HU...lol.

Maybe they get better with better talent around them...who knows

colt brennan doesn't have an nfl arm, he'd be a wasted pick (imo). chris ellis and trevor laws are going at least a round before you have us take them (and we pick near the end)

i think hardy gets drafted in 5th or 6th too. good guy to bet on though.

I not so sure about that I've been on here for a long time (as have you ) and we seem to always over value prospects.

I thought we were without our 5th round pick via the Kendall trade. 4th is gone to Denver for TJ Duckett.

He played in at least 80% of our 2008 offensive snaps so it's a 4th rounder in 2009, instead of a 5th in 2008

3rd - Dre Moore. After that I don't have a good feel for who will be available and who we can develop. In general though I would like too grab and OL, LB, and S. Usually these positions are the ones that develop into quality starters when they come from the late 2nd day picks.

Re: Make Your Day Two Redskins Draft Selections (Rounds 3-7)

Found a local product (I'm personally a huge fan of the local producsts) that could be an Undrafted Free Agent and I would love to give him a shot.

Joseph Haynos
TE | (6'7", 262, 4.9) | MARYLAND

Scouts Grade: 30View by: Player | NCAA School | Position | NFL Team | Flag | All Ranked Players | NFL Draft History You are signed into Insider and have access to the exclusive draft content below.
Strengths: Runs adequate short-to-intermediate routes and isn't going to drop many passes should catch. Tall enough to come down with most jump balls, uses wide frame to shield defenders from the ball and flashes the ability to make the tough catch in traffic. Is fast enough to work the seam and shows good body control when tracking the ball downfield. Runs hard and can pick up yards after contact. Takes adequate angles to blocks, flashes the ability to adjust to the moving target in space can get into position at the second level. Works hard, gets adequate hand placement and flashes the ability to sustain blocks. Walked on at Maryland before earning a scholarship, has progressed nicely and should only get better with added experience.

Weaknesses: Plays too high, hasn't shown great lower body strength and should have problems driving defenders off the ball. Isn't physical, doesn't deliver a violent punch and catches defenders rather than attacking them. Though plays with a wide base and generally gets into sound position when asked to help out in pass protection, bends at the knees rather than the waist and has problems anchoring against bull rushers. Isn't fast enough to outrun defenders when gets a seam, lacks the elusiveness to make defenders miss and isn't much of a threat after the catch.

Overall: Haynos was redshirted in 2003. During his first three seasons (2004-'06) he appeared in 30 games (six starts) and caught 38 passes for 372 yards (9.8 average) and four touchdowns. Haynos was used primarily as a blocking tight end during his first two seasons. Haynos is a suspect drive blocker at this point and he isn't much of a big-play threat but he has the tools to develop into a starter in time. He has the frame to add bulk and get stronger at the point of attack and the strong hands to develop into a reliable possession receiver.
