Interesting point about Manning too, because I know everyone will try to take him, AP or Chris Johnson with their first pick.

Seems like most here think Moss and Portis could be good picks in the right round(s).
In my opinion, everyone's top 3 should be the same:

1) Chris Johnson
2) Adrian Peterson
3) Maurice Jones-Drew

After that you can debate 4/5/6 between Ray Rice, Michael Turner, and Frank Gore.

7 & 8 should be Brees and Rodgers, but if you think your league is sleeping on their value then pass on them in the late first and try to get them in the high second round.

Then Andre Johnson, Rashard Mendenhall, and Steven Jackson should be in the 9/10/11 conversation.

Re: Fantasy Tips

Maybe throw Ryan Matthews in with Andre, Mendenhall, and Steven Jackson.

Shonn Greene isn't far behind either.

Re: Fantasy Tips

I wouldn't pass on a player necessarily due to a bye, but it's something to keep in mind. I don't like giving away easy wins myself. That's just my view.

Re: Fantasy Tips

And we're not talking being screwed for one week either, depending on your breakdown you could easily end up getting screwed for 2 weeks.

Re: Fantasy Tips

too each is own but seriously bye week should be one of the least things you are worried about. Honestly read that VBD article and do the exercise, it makes ton of sense.

Agreed it's not a huge deal, just something to keep in mind is all. I didn't say to obsess on it or use it as your main guide in a draft. I've seen times where a team had 2 guys out one week and 2-3 out another week. That's an issue unless you have an extremely deep bench.

I was not meaning to pick on you but it annoys me when some guys obese about bye weeks.

Bye week can be a big issue. I have had as many as 4 guys with the same bye weeks both starters and backups. I had to drop some of my backups to get starters for one week and ended up losing them for good via waivers. Bye weeks can be crucial depending on your after draft roster. For me though I am always signing guys off of waivers it seems every season just about every week.

I will say it again if you understand the VBD system are a variation of it bye weeks mean nothing in determining the overall value of your player becasue everyone has that variable so it levels the playing field in regards to bye weeks.

Re: Fantasy Tips

I'd personally rather have all my players on a bye in one week, not make any pickups, and throw the game. I'd rather be 0% strength for one week than 85% strength for like 7 games.

I don't pay attention to bye weeks. They fall where they fall, I just want guys who will get me to the playoffs, but more importantly, guys who will be playing well when I get there.

God bless you guys if you love FF that much where you're running spreadsheets and using formulas. I love FF, but not that much.

Well I love FF, but I love microsoft excel even more. Finance by trade, you kind of have to love it.

Like I said, big nerd here.

LOL! I agree, excel is such a powerful tool especially if you are good at VBA.

Re: Fantasy Tips

I stare at spreadsheets all day at work, last thing I want to do is work with them at home too.
