London Fletcher played well yesterday. He always does.

He didn't play that well actually. He missed 3 tackles yesterday, and looked slower than normal.

Re: Fletcher to Start against Steelers

Going on that note above, I found this fun fact.

LL LL ‏@HTTR24_7

8 games in and London Fletcher leads MLBs with 14 missed tackles. Fletch missed 14 tackles in 16 games last year.

That's clearly not a good sign.

Re: Fletcher to Start against Steelers

Inside Linebackers: London Fletcher, WAS (-3.5) and Lawrence Timmons, PIT (-3.1)

Blame it on age or injury, but the artist formerly known as LFB is really struggling these days. He added three more missed tackles to his total for the year. In the same game it seems odd that at one stage we thought Timmons was about to break out as one of the league’s top linebackers. 2010 was so long ago.

Re: Fletcher to Start against Steelers

^^following Matty's post about PF's stat run down for week 8, ran across this article over on BB.

Sucks that he's dropped off so far, so fast. Just makes our holes that much more on D come the off-season. Hopefully it's just the minor injuries causing this lack of production and he starts back producing.

Got blasted during the offseason for saying I didn't feel bringing back London was that important. Sad to see him living up to what I said, but it's just reality unfortunately. Still will love the guy.

SOrry to say, but you really didn't know this would play out like it has. Granted, history shows that you don't get better the older you get (passed a certain age), but it was very feasible he could come out and played just as well as last year.

That said, I wasn't about paying LF the type of coin he wanted. Certainly wasn't worth it at that age.

Re: Fletcher to Start against Steelers

I didn't call the whole unbalance problems, but I did talk about the hamstring due to the age. Much harder to get healthy while playing.
