Re: Week 8: Redskins Vs Steelers Matchup Thoughts

For some reason, i feel like the Skins win this one going away. The Steelers' defense is old, I'm thinking it will be a big day for RG3 (again)...

Slowik didn't leave. He's coaching the LBs now

For some reason I thought he'd always been the LBs coach.

That's what I thought. Anyways, the inability to defend against the pass has gotten way out of hand.

True, but it has been more high risk than any reward. The picks by this D are nice, but they just fall apart in the 4th quarter.

I have been one of the many to bitch on this site about the total failure by our D on the Victor Cruz play, but honestly when I think back, the Giants were only down by 3 and could have kicked a FG to tie and force OT. They had over a minute and some Timeouts if I remember. They may have gotten the TD anyway or beat the Skins in OT. Either way, I had no confidence that our Defense could stop them. It was a quick death, but it could have been a slow death as well last week.

I dont think it is out of the question to think that we might lose in Pittsburgh. LOL. Everything he says in his post has complete "possiblitly" written all over it. He says at least twice that with RG-3 anything is possible. Its not glass half empty, or trollish, its realistic and I appreciate it. That being said...........

Skins 27
Steelers 20

Christian Ponder, who you say sucks, has the 6th best completion percentage, 3 ahead of BR.Every defense has given up a long bomb at times. Wasn't happy it happened, but Eli has done that to many a teams. It happens, just like Griffin's 76 yd TD happens, or Moss's 30yd TD catch happens.

I was looking for 3 and out stats, but couldn't find any, but yards per drive for Pitt Defense is 34.3 (or 25th in league), and ours is 35.1 (27th)

I have no idea how one would prove or disprove the point that our opponents don't score in the redzone due to their own screwups. Would you consider DHall's int at the end of the Vikings game their screwup or a good play by our D?

I like Dwyer, but he is their 3rd option still on their depth chart. I doubt we game plan worrying about him beating us, but use extra support to our backend. He is kinda a Morris type, so he can do some damage, but I doubt we win or lose because of him.
In all fairness his last three games - 6 picks and everyone is pointing out his slump..............

Y'all realize that for the first time since 2007 we're likely not going to see London Fletcher take the field as a Redskin on Sunday?

Say it aint so! just yesterday Chris Russell said he would be shocked if Fletcher didnt go. Do you really think the Iron Mans streak is going to end?

That will really stink, but I guess it's time to consider that his time is quickly running out. Time to get Robinson some experience.
