However, Haslett has to improve his scheme and adjustments or it makes no difference how well our guys do. I'm very frustrated with the defense. Strongly believe we have the talent, albeit in a 4-3 front, to be a dominant defense, but our coaching has been pretty abysmal. If Haslett can't optimize his scheme and adjustments to improve the defense dramatically over the rest of the season I think he needs to go.
I don't think Coach Haz has done a bad job. The defense has underachieved a lot this season so far because players are simply not playing like their capable of playing. Like when Josh Wilson fell down on a play against the Bengals and the WR ran 42 yards for a TD. It's plays like that that keep the Redskins from winning games.

What I would like to see is Coach Haz call something different similar to what Richie Pettibon used to do. Pettibon used to call the defense using 3 man lines and five man lines back when the Redskins ran a 4-man front. I would like to see the Redskins employ the 46 defense as well as the 4-3 defense for many 10 or 15 of the opposing offensive snaps. That might bewilder the opposing offense and its coordinator.

I had no idea Rocca's injury was anything serious. Too bad, cause he's also our holder. In related news, Nick Sundberg will likely return to practice next week

I just read about Sav Rocca's injury in the Washington Post. Hopefully he won't be out long.

Not to be a downer...but I would be shocked if the Redskins beat the Giants.
So they beat the Vikings...a team a month ago that was expected to be 6-10 or so...we have lost to some average teams...yeah a win makes you feel good...but until we can beat a better team, we are in no position to be talking about leading the division...no way.
We are not there yet guys, please be more realistic and patient.
of course, I'd be thrilled to be wrong...I just don't see it.
We don't have the secondary or Oline to play at a playoff game level yet...this will be a good measure of how long it will take us to truly compete. I just hope we don't crack with late turnovers, penalties, etc that are typical with rebuilding teams.

This game could turn out to be similar to the Redskins-Packers Monday Night game from 1983 where both offenses put up tons of points. We don't know what will happen. The Redskins match up well with the Giants. The Redskins have already proven that they can score points. We can also run the football and RG3 can hit his receivers or take off with it when no one is open. I'm not concerned with Victor Cruz or Hakeem Nicks. We've already faced a bunch of great wide receivers already. Very confident our defense will hold them.

Be more optimistic. Don't doubt.

We need to duplicate our gameplan we used in week 1. Control the clock.

The Redskins have the 2nd highest rushing average per game in the NFL. The NYG are 9th in the NFL in run defense. I think the Redskins have the advantage. Controlling the clock and pounding the Giants with the run could be Mike and Kyle's focus as they put together the offensive game plan.

Re: Breaking it Down - Skins @ Giants

As in any game minimizing penalties will also be key.

The Skins have 44 penalties for 396 yds, while the Giants have 42 penalties for 316 yds.

IF we are able to play a clean game, that should give us a bit of an edge. If the players don't keep outbursts under control, an untimely 15 yd penalty could be huge.

This report brought to you by Captain Obvious, when being right in front of your nose isn't good enough call on Captain Obvious to show you the truth.

If we score more points than the Giants, I think we can win this one.

Interesting. I'm going to look at it this from another angle though. I think if the Giants score fewer points than us...then we got this!
