Re: P90x

GM thanks for your insights.

My family and I generally try to do all our shopping at Whole Foods, you be so surprised how much better that food makes you feel. I try to think that 95% of the week my food intake is fuel, so I want the best fuel for my body, 5% is for taste/enjoyment that usually equates to a fatty lunch Friday and going out to eat Fri and/or Sat night.

Today I went with a buddy for lunch and he wanted Mexican . I had a quesidilla (sp) and refried beans. I feel like crap right now and I will probably have too shortly as well. It is getting to the point with me now that the taste is not worth the feeling afterward.

Re: P90x

I have P90x and did about 70 days of it about a year ago. It's the real deal and it's alot of work. Go figure, you do actually have to work hard and eat right to lose weight.

I was impressed. The only thing for me was after working out 5 or 6 days a week I would contantly be hungry. I couldn't eat enough food. I tried to keep it relatively healthy but still had to have some mexican every couple weeks.

I still do alot of the training videos thru P90 x b/c it's a good workout. I'm just not working out 6 days a week now.

Re: P90x

That is my fear with p90x you do all that work then what? No one could live that lifestyle for very long. It is not a realistic for life program.

Re: P90x

It's not really meant to be a do this for the rest of your life program. It's a lot easier to maintain than to get it there. Plus you may come up with new goals by then.

It's the same as any other get in shape program, you can't do it and then ride it out, it's about a lifestyle change.

Re: P90x

They do have some maintenance programs and a lot of people will just go through the program over and over. You could of course dial it back to 3-4 days a week once you're at a level you want.

I bought it a year or so ago , freakin shoulder and upper chest were sore for the better part of the week . I rarely feel sore in the days following a workout . I had to back off , to once a week with the damn thing , but it is a nice tool to have . Didn't notice the " BO DUKE " .

Re: P90x

I can see how those straps would give you a killer workout. You're probably working all sorts of muscles just to stabilize yourself.

Re: P90x

I've checked out P90X and Body For Life. Body for like is what I started using before I got serious with the weights. After a few months of weights P90X didn't seem like anything to me. We had the quarterdeck back in my day, and it made P90X look like strawberry shortcake.

I guess it would depend on what you're doing or what you want to get out of working out. P90X would be good for someone who regularly works out moderatly who wants to step it up.

I only watched one CD of it from my buddy. It seemed kind of boring really.

My shoulders , and the area where your chest and shoulders tie in , were sore for a damn week the first couple of times I used them . Very effective included with a sound routine , I think I'am going to buy a set of kettlebells this summer .

I've been using kettlebells for a few months now and I definitely recommend them. Killer workout, really improves your core strength and fast too.
