Due 08/15!

Gotta feel bad for the mothers.

We had a 2-hour power outage last night (8-10pm) because too many people cranked their ACs up.

Today's heat index for this part of PA will be 115.

Just heard D.C. is going to be 117 today!

Just had to listen to some crazy lady say "she's convinced that Al Gore is right and people thought it was a good idea to cut down all of the rain forests".

It's July! We complain about the heat EVERY summer and then the snow in the winter...but have very short memories.

Re: Stifling States of America: Heat Wave!

At 8:00 pm last night some friends came over and we played corn hole. Even after 8 it was still hot as hell and I was still sweating at 10:00. One of my buddies was working in the hull of a ship and he said he drank 2 gallons of water and still did not pee until he got home.

Re: Stifling States of America: Heat Wave!

I've always loved being from DC, and a big part of that is you really get the best (or worst depending on how you look at it) of all four seasons. It's amazing to think- I've seen plenty of days in the winter where we have single digit temperatures. I even remember a few occasions where it was below zero. And today the heat index is 117. Amazing that from winter to summer we have triple digit variances.

It's so freaking gross outside right now.

Back in the early 80's we went to the beach on Sunday in shorts and missed school on Monday due to snow. That was crazy. We left the beach around 4pm and when we got home around 4:45 the temp had gone from 70 to the low 40's.

Re: Stifling States of America: Heat Wave!

We went to the beach Saturday and it really was not that bad but we sat right at the waters edge and had 2 umbrellas. What was strang was with the South West wind blowing the past several days the water temp was only 58 degrees. So you could sit on the beach and have a heat stroke and jump in the water and die from hyperthermia.

Re: Stifling States of America: Heat Wave!

I survived. Luckly the campground was heavily wooded which helped and we ran 5 floor fans in our camping area. It was upper 90s, but at night really cooled off while we were on the lake catfish fishing from 7-midnight. Pasted the time playing the afformentioned cornhole game which i prefer to call corn toss and relaxing in the water. Suprisingly the campground was 2/3rds full, but most had ac rvs. Basil Hayden and Loose Cannon IPA helped me through. Of course it wouldnt been a trip if I was threaten by a Park Ranger with a $250 fine for drinking a State Park.
