Dwayne, Jets, Giants with McCoy, Eagles with Wentz. Doesn’t get much easier than that when talking opposing offenses.

Yeah I feel like there is still this belief out there that the legion of boom and the awesome Seattle defense is still around because of their record. Their defense is a train wreck. A fiery train wreck.
Um, their defense has allowed 16 points a game over the last six games. They are not the same defense that they were in the beginning of the season.

Re: Dustin Hopkins Sucks Post Game Thread

Posted this in another thread, but it's relevant to this one too:

2020:

DH - 6 games (5 starts), 5 TDs, 5 INTs
AS - 7 games (5 starts), 4 TDs, 6 INTs

It is not so you have to go with the guy who gives you the best chance to win. It is Alex.
Given the teams we play, and our defensive strength, i would say this is exactly the time to figure out what we need. We are a near lock for the playoffs unless you believe NYG can beat the Ravens. And if DH can't get us across the line then we end up with a better draft position by about 7 spots to pick his replacement. If he does get us across the line you can use rounds 1 and 2 to strengthen the team and pick up a qb with a 3rd rd pick.

Honestly, I don't think the team could be in a much better spot to really solidify the understanding of team needs to make this team a perrenial contender.

Alex has been able to get the Ws though, so I think if he's healthy you have to roll with him against Carolina.

No doubt that this team with a healthy Alex wins but if the coaches want to let him rest one more game and put a little pressure on Haskins shoulders, personally I think that would be a good thing.

He doesn’t make mistakes in crucial situations. With our D we only need that. Like I said neither guy is a long term answer but im all in on this season right now because we are on the doorstep of a home playoff game,.....

I saw your first post. It's still the NFL. Holding NFL opponents to an average of 16 points over six games is an accomplishment, and a testament to how well your defense is playing. Throw the Rams and Cardinals in there too BTW...

Before crediting our QB too much, Seattle has one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL.

Perhaps for the season, but their D has been much better of late, since getting Jamal Adams back and adding Dunlap.

Truly. I think we must have next to no turnovers to win in our current stage of development on offense. That means going with Alex Smith because he is one of the best QB's there is at minimizing turnovers. We have a shot at winning our division so Smith must play, even if he is dragging one leg behind him.

This is not the time to prioritize getting another look at Dwayne Haskins. Haskins should only play if Smith can't go.

You play the schedule you're dealt, this isn't college football where we get to pick our opponents.

The same could be said for some of our wins.

You play Alex if you're concerned with winning in the moment and hoping to go deep in the playoffs.

You give Alex another week of rest if you are more concerned with the future and want to see if Haskins can build on this appearance.

The decision is Ron's.

Re: Dustin Hopkins Sucks Post Game Thread

Rivera already said Smith is starting if healthy. Lots of good discussions here. But the answer is solely in Smith's calf.
