Re: How did other teams do?

I missed the Ravens pick...what exactly happened? Did they let the clock run out without making a trade deal or pick, so they were skipped/knocked down a spot?

Re: How did other teams do?

Ravens and Bears had a deal in place, the Bears didn't call it in and left the Ravens hanging.

Wonder if they did it on purpose?

Not the pick, the botched trade between the two.

Ponder played in the same west coast offensive system in college that the Vikings use. Ponder fits that system perfectly, there is a small learning curve compared to the other QB's in this draft. Plus the Viking are loaded with talent on both sides of the ball and that will help get Ponder on the field sooner than most. If Ponder's play on the field pans out it will be seen as a big win.
The Falcons are stupid to give up that much. But if Jones explodes onto the scene next year and the Falcons go deep into the playoff it might be seen as a win as well.

TIME WILL TELL!
"Glass half full" for Vikes/Falcons.

We both agree on the cost to take JJ being way too much. I feel the holes on D for ATL are what's keeping them from an elite level, not a complementary WR.

For the Vikes, their window is closed IMO. They're long in the tooth in a lot of spots, particularly at OL/DL. Ponder isn't going to help them now.

Stranger things have happened. Plus they still have the rest of the draft and FA to fill the rest of their needs. I am not so quick to call the Vikings window completely closed.

Re: How did other teams do?

Yeah I agree the Ravens deserve compensation, just as the Bears deserve to be punished for dropping the ball.

Yes. It is stupid for the Bears not to be offering the pick right away...right now! Other wise teams may not want to trade with them in the future. Goes to Cred

Re: How did other teams do?

Most impressed with Detroit's draft so far. I think the Chiefs quietly collected some good value picks and added some starting talent.
