Interesting. I had thought the Bears might get him. I guess the Bills are less likely to draft a WR in the first round now

Re: What FA Wide Receiver Should We Sign?

If we are to get Hackett...we will have to outbid either Tampa or the Titans or both.
Hopefully on of them gets Javon Walker so we only have to go head to head.
Maybe we get super lucky and Tampa gets Walker and the Titans decide they dont need Hackett because they got Crumpler. I doubt it though....the Titans usally have a plan and stick with it.

I say odds are 50/50 on Hackett...if not, we will stand pat until draft day for WR

No chance it hell...this guy is a superstud, he also puts butts in the seats.
No way the Cards deal him for anything other than a 1st.
He is just too important to that franchise...
I'd take him in a second...who wouldn't?

Well, if our choices are Hackett or a WR with the 21st pick in the draft, I'll take Hackett and use that 21st pick on a position much more important.

I think we can get a good WR even in the 3rd round

The Redskins are just saying all the things you'd expect them to say. They like him, like the progress he's making. But what else are they going to say really?

AT least they are saying that much. I hope he's given a chance.

Re: What FA Wide Receiver Should We Sign?

I've liked Hackett for a while now but it appears that he might cost a bit much. I think the Skins are doing the right thing by waiting and if the Titans or some other team wants to give him a fat contract, then fine, they should pass on him and pick up a wideout in the draft. If the Skins do draft a wideout then I would prefer they wait until the 3rd or 4th round as recent history seems to indicate that you can find some very good ones in these latter rounds.

I'd take a flyer on Tab Perry of the Bengals as well. He's been hurt the past two years but is a good special teams player, both in coverage and kickoff returns. He would come cheap as well since the Bengals just cut him to avoid paying him like a $1 million tender.

Re: What FA Wide Receiver Should We Sign?

I like Bryant Johnson. He is big, physical and a very skilled performer. I don't have a problem with D.J. Hackett either. Randy Moss is not coming to Washington and Devon Walker is an injury risk.

Re: What FA Wide Receiver Should We Sign?

Javon's better than Devon

I'm still not 100% sold on Bryant Johnson. I mean not if we're expecting him to come in and be THE GUY here. Don't know how sold I am on Hackett either really.

Whats the lovefest with Mix recently?
He's done nothing....sure he's big....but c'mon.
The guy should probably be on our practice squad..if he isn't currently.

Yeah, give him a shot....but I wouldn't neglect getting a proven commodity hoping a "no-name" can pull a rabbit out of his butt.
