Money on Montez being the backup next week, NOT Haskins?

You weren't alone. It's a game they should have won.

I don't see that. It's gotta be Haskins backing up A Smith. I suppose it's possible Montez is brought up though...but my guess is he'd be inactive as Haskins has been.

But probably not below average for the Giants who seem to never convert a third down unless they are playing us....

Their average this year is 41.4%. So looks like they held them to below their average as well.

Had no idea. Was being sarcastic but actually wouldn’t have been surprised if their season average was like 30 percent.
Anyway our defense should have played better against that putrid offense,....

No doubt, but the turnovers is the story, which led to the defense being on the field almost two times as much as the offense. I think it is pretty admirable to have only allowed 23 points after five turnovers.

No question 5 turnovers cost us the game. The offense has been hanging the defense out to dry for most of the season.

Yeah no doubt the offense is and was the main problem but i always hold out hope our D is gonna bail them out - as hard as that is to do.

Re: Giants post season ending loss thread

I'm actually pretty optimistic and looking forward to how this team could progress with A Smith at the helm for the remainder of the season.

I would like to see more balance with regard to run/pass, but the short passing game, screens, etc are really just an extension of the running game. If they put up 400+ yards a game (and win), I won't really care if it's 80/20 pass to run.

Re: Giants post season ending loss thread

Giants have the 31st ranked offense ... were 30th.

I’m so far pleased with this season. Certain players have met expectations or exceeded, we’re made some decision on players and are moving on from them (Moreau, apke), and despite being 2-6 and in good draft position ... this team is showing growth.

Haskins not rising up is disappointing but I didn’t think he would to begin with and glad we didn’t linger with it.

Give me a top 5 pick and a chance at a franchise qb, a high second, 2 3rds and tons of cap money when other teams will cut good players because of the shrinking cap

I’m happy

Haskins can either pout his way out of the NFL or get to work. If he puts in the work he will get another chance to start here or somewhere else.

What is telling to me, is that I haven't heard any of his teammates dispelling the rumors. He must just be a lazy ass right now.
It's astonishing the number of kids that wash out of the NFL because they think they can get by on athletic talent alone. If Haskins is next, he won't be the first or the last. He's at a fork in the road right now, and the path he takes will determine if he ever has a future as a starter in this league (for the record I think Ron has seen enough to move on after the season).
