Re: Food Vices

Anyone have some random, non-universal, Thanksgiving foods that you have every year? I'm so basic on Thanksgiving. Just keep the cranberries away from my plate.

I tried too 2 years ago and some folks were mad

I am sooooo tired of that meal , I will pick at my plate tomorrow and save me appetite for when I get home and eat something I want

At 50 , idk, I am kind of over the holidays in general, my kids are teenagers now my folks are in their 80s , just feel like we are going through the motions

I don't have kids, but I could understand the feeling. Holidays aren't really a big-deal to me any more either, except for Thanksgiving. I don't do anything crazy, just hanging with my old roommate, but I still look forward to it ever year. The 4-day weekend is probably a huge part of that.

Not Thanksgiving, but I’ve always wanted my girl and her mom to do the seven fishes dinner of Christmas. Their Italian and heard her mom talk about preparing it back in the day.

Re: Food Vices

How do people eat cottage cheese? I am trying to do basically Adkins and am trying to limit artificial sweeteners as much as possible. So I tried mixing some cottage cheese with greek yogurt, and I just can't w/ that texture. It's such a perfect protein meal, but I just can't eat it.

Apparently not. Food is probably the 1 thing I don't buy online. That and big electronics like a T.V.

Re: Food Vices

Pre-made/bought hard-boiled eggs. Whoever makes the pre-made ones you buy at the grocery store, does a phenomenal job, always peeled perfectly. I try to make them myself and the eggs end up w/ more craters than the moon by the time they are peeled. It's a tad more expensive to buy them already made, but saving the hassel is worth it imo.
