Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
Yeah, it definitely changes from play to play, but you've gotta have an end who is willing and able to do both.
With AH at end, always shooting the B gap, you'd have to keep a LB responsible for the C gap on every play, which kinda defeats the purpose of the 3-4 IMO. In the end, you have to have linemen that will play 2 gap when needed, and AH won't, so moving him to DE doesn't help the situation.

Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
I never said he was going to the Pro Bowl. I just said it was ridiculous to call him a bust especially since he is by far our best safety and has been by a wide margin since we lost ST.

Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
Landry was so freakin bad last year, but it's quite possible that the switch to SS is all that he needs to become a very good player.
He has no ability to read the quarterback and he can't comprehend angles of intercept so you just can't allow him to play deep. He plays the run very well and he is the fastest safety in the entire league so just keep him as close to the line of scrimmage at all times to protect him from himself. Never allow him to actually think. Ever. |

Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
I have been wondering why we let Howard Green go. He played in almost every game last year (as a role player) for the best defense in the NFL last year but was beaten out by Kemo (who is terrible) and Bryant who can't be that good if he hasn't beaten out Kemo.

Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth
I know Kemo has been an outstanding locker room presense but he just isn't getting it done and hasn't gotten it done since he has been here. I forget who posted the link on how Achilles injuries end a lot of NFL careers and result in the player never reaching their previous performance sums Kemo up for me. His best days are done. I think you can look at Jansen and easily argue that he never was as good after his achilles went out.
